Dr Walker is very professional and has a great bedside personality. Takes the time to listen to me and explain the procedure I’m facing.

Very good doctor
I had a hernia repaired by Dr. Walker and everything went very well. Through other contacts I asked about how good of doctor he was. Everyone I spoke to (including several that have been in the OR with him) said he was one of the best. Several of the nurses in the area said they made sure he was the one that operated on them. When the nurses say he is their preferred doctor, you know you are in the right place.

Dr Waker saved my life in 2015, I had a major rupture of digestive track, this resulted in a ladder suturrd and open abdominal wound. When it came to repair the massive hernias left the the wake, my only choice, my trusted choice Is DrJames Walker

He was consulted in regard to my problems with pancreatitis. He was firm, confident, and I have great confidence in his judgment and ability. He did not agree with the hospitalist surgeon, and recommended supportive care and watchful waiting. I believe this saved my life. I would strongly recommend him to anyone needing an excellent general surgeon. Very good in his communication with me.

Had a cholecystectomy done by Dr. Walker on October 26, 2020. He is the absolute best. He trained under Dr. John Jones, one of the most well known and well loved general surgeons. Dr. Walker is super caring about his patients. Great bedside manner and very thorough in explaining procedures and answering any questions you may have.

Had hernia surgery earlier this month. I have never had any type of surgery before so even outpatient was a little scary for me. The day of I get to the hospital and everything went according to plan. The nurses and aides were very professional and made me feel at ease. Dr Walker came in before the surgery and again explained what he was going to do. The only thing I can say bad is the OR room was freezing but hey if it keeps everyone awake then hey Im good. Recovery has gone pretty good. The first three days were rough as expected. Feel so much better already. Should have done it years ago. Thank you Dr Walker????

I got a hiatal hernia repair in 2018 at CHI st Vincent. Immediately after the surgery when I started to eat solid I started to get vomits, nausea, fullness even with small meals, I visit him in order to know what's going on, and he always says that it was my stomach reduced, temporary recovering, diabetes and so on ( I have no diabetes). At the end I got an empty scan and as a result of the surgery he damaged my vagus nerve and now I have Gastroparesis. A condition that simply I cannot perform my job adequately, using a medicine with no FDA approval (domperidone), no social security disability recognized and is not winnable in court for malpractice. At the end I traveled to Cleveland to look for an specialist for motility and I got a surgery to improve the symptoms which is not recognized by my health insurance as an standard procedure and now I owe $20,000. Maybe Dr walker is a friendly person but unfortunately is a bad surgeon.

Dr Walker was excellent. I had a very trying day with another facility before going to St Vincent Little Rock. He was professional, and my care was excellent. My family was very pleased with the communication they received after my surgery.

Dr. Walker is a gifted surgeon. He saved my daughters life when she had MRSA in her stomach pacer. Others docs tried to help her and couldn’t. He fixed her. He also operated on me and moved my stomach pacemaker to a more comfortable position. He is a straight shooter and right to the point doctor. We loved him. I highly recommend him. I’ve had 48 tummy surgeries over the years by many docs and he is one of the best I’ve had!

Dr. Walker is the reason I’m alive I feel. I had surgery three years ago and there were no complications at all. He’s terrific to talk to and takes so much time listening and explaining. He definitely left an outstanding impression with me and my loved ones. I can’t thank him and his team enough.

Not the place to go if you expect communication. I showed up for surgery and they had cancelled it and failed to notify me. Also failed to notify me not to go off blood thinner for 7 days. When myself and my heart Dr. tried to contact the Dr. and try to find out what was going on they would not answer the heart Dr. Call or return mine. So I am still in pain and endangered my life by going of my meds all for nothing because his office failed to communicate,

this so called surgeon almost let me bleed to death. He nicked my spleen during surgery, told my family he repaired it but sent me home the following morning with out following up on this. long story short, I ended up at ER in my home town, ambulance back to Little Rock after 3 units of blood to get me stable, ER at St Vincents, 4 days ICU and then regular room. At least a dozen more doctors, all of whom sent me bills which I paid. turned over for collection by hospital and Walker.

Lacking in bedside manners and post op/discharge instructions, were not detailed. Numerous attempts to raach medical exchange his office provided ended up with someone picking up the phone and hanging up. Spent 6hrs in emergency room
