I'm a frequent patient of Dr. Tovey. Torn meniscus, ruptured Achilles tendon, and various hand issues. Several surgeries with NO complications. He keeps up with current advances in care, including minimally invasive Achilles tendon repair.

Dr.Tovey is not a good doctor. I should have listened to my instincts and went to another doctor. Instead I went ahead and allowed him to replace both my knees. The first was a painful experience where he had no empathy. My second surgery with him was even worse. I was I terrible pain for 5 months after the surgery only to find out he broke my kneecap during the surgery. I’m a 45 ur old mother of 3. I can no longer run, kneel or sit on the ground. I had to have another surgery to remove pieces of my broken kneecap and the prosthetic kneecap. I live in significant pain everyday bc I no longer have a kneecap. Walking is painful. Walking up stairs is beyond painful. I can’t run after or with my kids. Stay away

Multiple surgeries, excellent results
Dr. Tovey corrected a meniscus tear when I was in my 50s, a torn Achilles tendon when I was in my 60s. Both operations were performed minimally invasive, using the latest surgical techniques. The outcomes were excellent. I continue to lead an active life going into retirement. I trust Dr. Tovey and the advice of his assistant. They told me what needed to be done, and partnered with me on my healing journey. I’m still skiing, bicycling, motorcycling, and surf fishing thanks to the good Doctor…! If you are willing to trust him, listen to the advice of his staff, and follow instructions you just might be as grateful as I am for this skilled orthopedic surgeon.

Flexible and understanding!
My daughter broke her wrist and initially the school nurse did not believe her. Dr Tovey immediately fit us right in was able to get a put a cast on. He was very kind as she was very scared and upset. Wonderful experience, doctor and staff!

Dr Tovey had seen my 10year old daughter for an injured ankle from baseball. He was rude, and condescending to both my daughter and myself - her dad. He became infuriated at me when I had a couple of questions regarding the diagnosis. Eventually we went to a different doctor who specialized in kids orthopedics.

WORST experience with this Dr and his PA and the staff. Nov2020. Dr Tovey for his age and experience- i could never imagine this would be an approach of a finger surgeon as he never bothered to open my fractured finger bandage and look at it and based on Xrays he just asked me to get ready for a surgery next day as he had a slot opening- he was desperately forcing me to get surgery. Most horrifying statement is he stated he will put metal plates in my pinky and that will stay forever. I CAN NEVER BELIEVE THIS. The PA n Dr had no intention to cure my fractured finger- they ONLY know how to get a surgery done as fast as they can before the patient can change their mind. i walked out & took 3 other opinions. I completely got recovered without any metal plates and im doing fine. The staff is so cold and gave me attitude every time i showed up and they gave me a hard time handing over the xray images. I would never never ever step into that office in my life. Be careful guys. Kris

Today, I had my first scheduled visit . When I arrived there was only one person in the large lobby complaining about her physical therapist and something about returning to work. I poked my head into the lobby to tell the receptionist that I had a scheduled appointment and she told me to step out and close the door. I did as she said and stood alone in the air tight glass vestibule waiting for the girl to finish her story. After 5 minutes the receptionist yelled for me to go wait outside, even though I was standing on the social distance spot in the vestibule. I then went outside into the parking lot to wait. After an additional 10 minutes, I called to see if I could come in. The receptionist, obnoxiously, told me that she would call me, not the other way around. After that attitude, I got into my car and headed home. 20 minutes after my scheduled appointment , she called and told me I could now come in. I told her to forget it, I'm looking for another doctor. Horrible Staff!!
