Answered all my questions, very knowledgeable
Has done my physical for the past two years. Does a thorough physical, all the tests if needed, bloodwork, ekg, hernia, prostate, etc. He doesn't have the best bedside manner, doesn't joke much but I really liked his knowledge of my history, he asks and answers question and listens to me. His answers can be short. His staff is nice but a tad scattered and not the best at getting back to you in My Chart. But I like going to him and plan to continue for a third physical and beyond.

Poor Follow-up
On November 15th, via MyChart, I put in a request to have a medication refilled. Six days later, on November 21st, I called the office to inquire about my prescription, because it still had not been refilled. At that time, office administration escalated my request and tagged it as URGENT. Here we are on November 28th, and another call later. There is a person, who is physically walking my refill over to Dr. Reed. If you’re considering this professional, I urge you to reconsider. I’ve been in the Novant Health system for over 15 years. I’ve had some AMAZING Novant doctors who, in addition to their team, are responsive to calls and MyChart messages. This is the WORSE that I’ve ever seen. MyChart clearly states and requests 48 hours for a response to be given. It’s been two weeks too long and several calls later to have a simple staple medication refilled. If you care about your health, reach for a physician that echoes your sincerity.

I have tried to schedule a follow up appointment now for over two months. I scheduled two appointments and they have cancelled both appointments one day before and the second one not until I showed up for my appointment today 10/201/2021. The receptionist was rude said we called you twice yesterday. If they did call, they didn't bother to leave any message. I confirmed my appointment in MyChart yesterday and there no message that my appoint had been cancelled. I am leaving this doctor and novant to go to the Atrium group. Hopefully they will have more concern for my health than this doctor has.

I met with Dr. Reed to assess his suitability as a PCP. Things went downhill right from the first when Dr. Reed talked over me with a lecture about me needing specialists. He didn't bother asking if I have specialists (I do). He continued to talk past me, was very poor at asking questions and listening, and often came across as belligerent. I also felt patronized in that she seemed to assume I was ignorant. I cancelled further appointments the next day.

Dr. Reed is the best PCP I have ever had. He is thorough, patient, has a wonderful bedside manner and is never too busy to answer my questions in the office or through My Chart. Thanks to Dr. Reed , I finally have a diagnosis and can now look forward to feeling better. I highly recommend him. His staff is wonderful as well, very helpful and professional.
