I requested a thyroid panel consisting of T4, T3, Reverse T3, and TSH. Dr. Ramig proceeded to draw a picture of a human body and explain the way the feedback system works. He tried to tell me we didn't need to run Reverse T3. He's not aware that if your Reverse T3 is too high, it will cancel out your T3. ALL of us have Reverse T3; it’s not unique to me. This will not show up if the only tests you run are TSH, T3, and T4. I found a real doctor who knew the potential value of running a Reverse T3 and I had the full thyroid panel done. It turned out my Reverse T3 was too high and it explained my symptoms. If you want a doctor who will not listen to you and do it only his way even if it's blatantly incorrect, he's your man. His staff also tried to change my appointment date on a visit so he would get paid more for the visit. If they were able to change my appointment date by two days, they could charge it as a "wellness visit" according to Medicare rules. I changed doctors. Your T3 value should be 20 % or more of your Reverse T3. In my case, my T3 was only 15% of the value of Reverse T3. I had to have T3 prescribed to fix this ratio. It's common to see people prescribed T4. But, in my case, I had to change doctors to get T3 prescribed.

Very dismissive and uncaring as well as absolutely lacking in any curiosity or capacity to listen. It was obvious he wanted to just be done and on his way. If someone wants to actually address concerns versus being blown off I would suggest going elsewhere. Guy is jerk.
