Never fails to help
Dr. McKinney always found just the right spot for cortisone injections, where others have missed the mark. He explains things simply has astounding medical intuition, great patience, and a down to earth manner. He remembers people. Good sense of humor. Has kept me moving for many years.

My former knee replacement was fantastic, no pain etc for over 6 yrs. All of a sudden the knee became infection and caused great pain with swelling. We were referred to Dr McKinney for a 2nd knee replacement. Dr. McKinney after the infected knee prosthesis was removed and I was put on 2 month couse of IV atb's. Dr McKiiney replaced the knee with a new prosthesis without a MRI. I had severe pain after the replacement surgery I consulted with Dr. McKinney about the pain, he just kept saying everything looked fine that the knee just needed time. Well after 1 1/2 yrs of severe pain, i consulted with Dr. Wm. Shell. He took an MRI, a bone scan and aspirated cultures from the knee to determine if the infection returned. It hadn't. Dr. Shell performed a 3rd knee replacement last year and from the first day the horrible pain I was having on standing & walking disappeared. The prosthesis that Dr. McKinney replaced was not cemented correctly and too small. No one should have to undergo this.

I broke my right hip in Dec 2019 and he repaired it with a rod. June 3, 2020 he did a total replacement of my right knee which gave me a "0" pain level. I am having a total replacement of my left knee July 15, 2020. He is an excellent surgeon and has a great personality. He takes time with his patients and listens to his patients. He takes time to explain what he is going to do and what to expect afterward. His nurse is exceptional also!

He did shoulder surgery on me. I woke up during the procedure and could hear them talking. They were saying it wasn't working. I don't remember anything else until I woke up a few days later in the ICU. I had come home and had stopped breathing and my husband called an ambulance. On top of hitting me hard with anethesia, he had put a Fentanyl patch on me. I almost died. Then for follow up he sent a NP in to see me.

Wonderful, kind, competent man, both in and out of surgery. Down to earth and easy to talk to. Excellent doctor-to-patient relating skills, and a good sense of humor. I could not recommend him more highly. He'll take as much care with a crooked toe as with a broken hip. Go to him.

I had rotator cuff surgery on my right shoulder 2 years ago which the anesthesiologist put a block in that effected my lung. Came out of surgery feeling like I couldn’t catch my breath. Recently I had my rotator cuff repaired on left shoulder. This is very painful and after first surgery I was on pain medication in to physical therapy which didn’t start for 4 weeks after surgery. This time after a week his nurse told me to ask my family doctor. I was in a lot of pain still and no compassion.

Dr McKinney is best btwn Nshvl, Knxvl & Ckvl! He's done 2 total hip replacemts, one of which both pelvic & hip bones were SO worn out they looked like a dog had chewed them! Due to wait'g f/both SS Disablty & Medicare apprvl b4 I could have surgry. By time apprvl came, other hip's cartilage was gone. Both surgeries very successful! He's also done a rt rotator cuff surgery, w/2 large bone spurs! I'm rt-handed; use of arm/shldr=100%. Just had totl rt knee replacmt; incision is great! Still rehab.

If I could give 0 stars I would. He is rude. I had a crushed ankle bone, all he did was put it in a cast, leaving my bones scattered and foot in the wrong direction. This also resulted in me walking on the side of my foot. It was so painful. Shortly after seeing him I lost my insurance so I had to live like that for 3 years before able to get insurance thru a job I had to suffer thru to get it fixed. He does not know what to do with crushed bones!
