Dr. James McDonnell, MD

It's not the doctor I have an issue with, but his assistant. I needed preapproval for a med that I've been taking for decades. His assistant claimed she had called Cigna and couldn't get the preapproval taken care of. I then called Cigna to see if there was something I could do. They said all that was needed was a VERBAL preapproval. Sounds easy, right? After at least two dozen messages, I still don't have preapproval. I know this is the office's fault because I called my gp to fill another med that the assistant said she couldn't get approval for. The gp's office got my approval within 2 hours when Dr. McDonald's office claimed they couldn't get approval after 6 months. The worst experience I've ever had at a doctor's office.

Doctor McDonnell listens well and always establishes a path forward for me. He is compassionate and willing to think outside the box about a diagnosis and treatment plan. He is a skilled practitioner, who is not afraid to recommend help from a specialist when it is necessary. I trust him with my life.

I have visited Dr. McDonnell's office three times. Of all the primary care physicians I have been a patient of, Doctor McDonnell is the best. He listens to his patients. He is knowledgeable, outgoing, taking his time to answer all questions thereby putting the patient at ease. The doctors staff are also top rate. I have nothing but praise for this office.
