Dishonest Charlatan
After close to a year of being a patient of Dr. McClurg, him promising during every appointment to submit a formal request to the Insurance company for approval to perform a menisectomy, I finally learned that he NEVER submitted the request! Even though during each appointment he "typed out the request" on his computer as we spoke, he wasn't typing out a request! He dragged on the appointments, getting paid by the Insurance company for each visit, but never submitted the request. When I finally learned that he'd never followed through with the request I finally found another orthopedic surgeon and found a truly caring, talented surgeon. Shortly after the 1st visit with the new surgeon the surgery was approved. I then requested my records from Dr. McClurg's office. His sugary sweet staff suddenly turned nasty and refused to hand over my medical records, even when I offered to pay for them. Charlatan is the only word that fits my description of Dr. James McClurg.

One-of-a-kind Doctor
This man exemplifies everything a doctor should be. They don’t book appointments every 10 minutes like others because when you’re with Dr. McClurg, you are his sole focus. If you’re in a hurry don’t go there. But if want to be healed, get in line!

He is a doctor profoundly in touch with both the patient & quarterbacking necessary procedures, referrals, general health care, & surgeries. His staff are truly a caring team. I proudly recommend Dr McClurg as his patient, and his advocacy was why I healed.

I came to see Dr. McClurg after dealing with severe pain for six years and I had been seen by the "best" in Los Angeles. He took time to do very exhaustive exams that no one else had done in all the years I have been treated. He gave me the correct diagnosis and the right treatment that alleviated the pain I suffered for years. I am glad that I found Dr. McClurg who in just a few visits was able to recover and live a normal life free of pain. In addition, His staff are very nice & caring. I wouldn’t trade Dr. McClurg for anything and I will recommend to anyone.

This is getting better and better as times goes by. -Dr. McClurg perfomed arthroscopic surgery on both of my knees exactly 8 years and 5 months ago and my knees all they do is get better and better. I continue hiking mountains for longer time, longer walks, bending exercises and no pain. They feel very strong. If I have to praise any doctor from the bottom of my heart, is this surgeon, the hands, knowledge, his professionalism and skills are excellent. Highly recommended.

I will always be grateful to Dr. McClurg for after dealing with pain for six years and several doctors without any good outcome I was referred to Dr. McClurg who took great care of me. I was so blessed to have someone refer me to Dr. McClurg who in just a couple of weeks was able to determine I would benefit from surgery, and I did. His staff, especially Maria are very attentive, considerate & caring. I wouldn’t trade Dr. McClurg for anything for his knowledge & care are worth more than gold!
