In August of 2015 I self-amputated my left thumb just below the middle joint (table saws always win). Dr. Marvel was the surgeon at the hospital who handled my initial operation. I was impressed by his rapid response time, depth of knowledge, and his willingness to explain options and procedures in great detail. After the initial operation in the emergency room in Sweetwater I had my care transferred to the Dallas area where I live. I ended up with a second operation but do not believe there was anything wrong with the care I received in Sweetwater - I had a skin graft that didn’t take and had to go on to option two. All in all, Dr. Marvel helped me and my family through a very tough day with compassion, competence, and skill. I thank him for all he did.

My husband had ankle surgery with him and he did very well. He spent time with us on the first visit and at each of the follow up visit. Dr Marvel is straight to the point and will not sugar coat what a patient needs. He is competent and thorough. I would recommend him to others.

I had a contrast MRI done and found(at another hospital)that I had two torn ligaments(that’s why they sent me to him). He told me that he didn’t know if it was torn, he knew it was inflamed. He said he knew because there was fluid around my joint. Mind you, with a contrast MRI, they inject you WITH fluid to see if it leaks out(to see the tear). I told him my procedure and he simply told me that the other hospital didn’t know what they were talking about. He gave me a shot which made my arm worse

He was a nice enough guy....as long as I didn't ask questions. Then he kept telling me I want healing right. Kept up with my appointments, but the x rays were all the same. Nearly a year later, I'm having to have another surgery because I just thought the healing was slow. Turns out, it never healed because he didn't do it right. I would recommend him, and I wouldn't go back to him........although I did try and they refused me.

Very thorough. Very friendly. Spent adequate time with me during my visits; both my initial and follow-ups. I would definitely recommend.
