Husband and I switched Dr closer to home. Son goes to him. We both were very pleased with Dr Macek. He recommended other specialist near by that we’ll need at some point. He answered all our questions. We did not feel rushed. Both our appointments were a short wait time to see him. We really appreciated that. Staff was great and very professional. Would highly recommend him.

Was told to go to urgent care
Macek is fine (if a little rude), but his nurse is an awful person. I have a serious medical concern that happens to be gynecological (knowing he does Pap smears as I’ve been offered one before). I didn’t have a gyno and can’t get into one for a month since I’ll be a new client there. His nurse called me and just kept saying “we don’t do that here” and then advised that I go to urgent care. And that if I stop being able to urinate I go to the ER. She then said she would see if there was anything she could do, and would call me back and never did. I will be looking for a new primary. Side note: Love his nurse practitioner but was told I have to do follow-up appointments with him rather than her.

4 days trying to get in touch with him.
Telling me he is sick.....I am sorry about that but he is a physician and needs to make arrangements to take care of his patients.

Most pompous doctor ever. Refuses to believe his patients and many simple tests are neglected. He refused to order a tick panel after I sought help for Lyme symptoms. He said that being a gardener wasn’t convincing enough for him and that I’d have to wait 4 to 6 weeks to see how I progressed! I was forced to go to urgent care. I reported him to Cigna. This guy has serious anger issues and needs some therapy.

I have been with Dr Macek since 2000, only leaving him when I moved out of state for a few years. When I moved back, even though he is over 50 miles away, there was no question that he will remain my physician. He is thorough, attentive, and has a dry sense of humour which I find puts me at ease. The longest I've ever waited is 5 minutes, if that, yet he never makes me feel rushed during appointments. He has always referred me to specialists who are top-notch, too. Highly recommended!

I had to change my children's provider after a change in insurance and I chose Dr. Macek regrettably. I have given Dr. Macek several attempts to change the initial bad impression I had gotten however I have finally given up and will be changing my children's provider again. Dr. Macek lacks any form of compassion or personality and to be honest he gives off the impression that he loathes his career. The staff in the office and the med assistants have always been pleasant.
