I was a patient of Dr Finnerty for 15yrs. His use of of a medical student scribe taking down every word during a visit really bothered me once I understood the back office used it to bill you erroneously. I was told if I discussed anything other than what is contained in my annual blood work physical I would be charged. I never discussed anything other than my specific details on the blood work but was billed $280.00 which I had to pay out of pocket.. Irate, I called Aetna who got a nurse from the practice on the line who said I discussed my PSA test results the doc so that,s why I was billed. HOG WASH. I have been getting a PSA test for 20 years on my annual tests. I terminated our relationship immediately. I am now with and excellent physician, Dr Albin at New Milford Medical Group. They the last independent medial group in the State of CT and am extremely happy. Its like going to the doc 30 years ago. What the corporations have done to doc practices is a sin.

Warm personality and great diagnostician. Takes the time to listen and I never feel rushed. Explains what and why he does things in an exam or prescribing medicines. Very confident in his care.

What this practice does is unconscionable. If you go in for an annual exam, and speak of ANYTHING you are experiencing, they bill it as an office visit (justifying it as "additional services.") My husband went in recently with a stye in his eye, which he clearly already knew what it was, and required nothing for, and they used this to justify billing him for a regular office visit, despite the fact that this was an annual exam. It is clear where this office's priorities lie. We will not return.

Dr. Finnerty was polite and experienced but more interested in his own reputation & a secure protocol versus going beyond the average guide lines in order to accommodate solutions for my personal physical health. I've never fit the one size fits all protocol. He very quickly passed me on to his nurse practitioner instead of putting in his own time to know or care for me personally. This prevented any sense of trust by establishing a third party barrier.

Dr. Finnerty has always been comprehensive is his approach with my care, so much so that he was able to diagnose a serious disease which could have been life altering. I would recommend no one else.

Dr Finerty is a great doctor for the following reasons: He explains your options and conditions in a way you can understand. He is also accurate in his treatment - double checking others work. He has a sense of concern for his patients.
