Life changing surgery
Over a year ago I had back surgery that changed my life. I had been to so many doctors throughout my life (birth defect) and they were not able to find a solution. Dr. Burt and team were able to explain to me exactly what was wrong and my options. I loved that they were honest and direct throughout my treatment. I am back (no pun intended) to a full life of hiking and having fun thanks to this team. I laugh a little at the negative reviews about friendliness, I needed intelligence, and information, not a friend,- and that is what I received. Thank you for removing the pain from my life and giving me quality back!

I was RN for 43 years & have the spine to prove it. I highly recommend Dr. Burt bc of his surgical expertise. He has performed my surgery as well as 2 other family members. Did well post op & no complications. He was always professional & polite. Clear & concise answers to all my questions. He goes the extra mile to acquire what his patients need. He shoots straight & no bs. I knew he was good ahead of visit bc of healthcare friends in the OR. His patients do well post op. That was of the Utmost Importance to me.

Dr. Burt was the 5th doctor I saw. The rest could not find the problem, he zeroed right in on it. I had a shattered neck. My quality of life was at almost zero. He did surgery rebuilt three vertebrae, put into artificial disc and a metal plate in my neck. After suffering for several years with this Affliction I was finally able to get on with my life. And I must say my quality of life is that almost 100%. I'm 71 years old and I had this surgery 15 years ago and we have. I can't thank him enough.

I went to Dr Burt for a discectomy in October of this year and I have to say that I was thoroughly pleased with the care that I received before and after surgery. Dr. Burt and his physicians assistant discussed every option with me and were upfront with any complications with whatever treatment I decided to go. I chose to have surgery and everything went well, even finding other issues and fixing them when they did the procedure. I went home the next day and did my part to heal quickly. I returned to work a little over 4 weeks after surgery and haven't had any issues from what was repaired. I would recommend highlands neurosurgery and Dr. Burt to anyone needing a specialist. I am ecstatic about my results!

On first visit I saw Dr Burt. On second visit after having Myelogram did not see Dr Burt only NP and PA even though the NP went a talked to Dr Burt and came back and told me what he said. I don't think it is very professional not to have a face to face with your patient especially after having imaging done. It was over an hour before I was taken to a room or saw anyone. I will find another Dr.

Very unprofessional. Doesn't listen to anything and disregards test results as though he knows everything and only he is right. Cuts you offer if you try to speak. Find another Dr-wouldn't recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Burt was very unprofessional. He did not care about what I had to say. He repeatedly interrupted me. His exam was minimal. He said that everyone has degenerative disease and bulging in their back yet he never mentioned my disc protrusion. He wanted to do more testing, yet never explained the tests nor the need for those tests. He left, leaving me worried, upset, and once again unsure. He never did return. Dr. Burt lacks dignity, kindness, compassion, courtesy, respect, understanding, honesty

I had an MRI which showed 4 bulging disc in my neck and I have pinky and ring finger that is numb and starting to draw. I don't think Dr. Burt even looked at my test results. He said it might be this, or it might be that.....just wanted to set up some other kind of test a MONTH from now, while meanwhile, the symptoms are getting worse and he even said I could end up with permanent damage, so 138.00 and a blood pressure check, I know no more than I did when I came in. VERY DISAPPOINTED

Dr. Burt did my surgery. I am still in grave pain and when I saw him today, I was given the brush off. He diagnosed me without an up date to x-rays or MRI and then refused to hear me out. Why visit a doctor who refuses to listen to you? He left the room without preamble or excuse and sent in his nurse with the prescriptions, which by the way, haven't relieved the pain. I am currently looking for a new surgeon to review my records and assist with pain management and decent bed side manners!!

Dr Burt is clearly a highly skilled surgeon. His entire staff is made up of PA's or NP's and they are who you work with, they get 5 stars plus. I spent maybe a total of 10 minutes with Dr. Burt other than when he was performing surgery. So if you need a surgeon to hold your hand do not go to him you will be dissatisfied, if you want a great surgeon with a highly competent staff you are lucky to be in their care. I have scored this based on Dr. Burt and his staff.

Scheduled an appointment, never saw the man. only his male nurse who actually made the diagnosis and scheduled the test. Refused the test because I never saw the DR. This is what I made an appointment to do and yet I was shuffled off to a nurse. I didn't pay to see his male nurse and was never told the Dr. would not be present.
