Dr. James Burkhead, MD

I have been seeing Dr. Burkhead for a very long time, even changed insurance companies when I found out that the hospital Dr. Burkhead was practicing didn't take the type of insurance I had changed to. Even travel a longer distance when I moved just to see him. That is how amazing of a Physician he is, I love his staff! Veronica is an amazing nurse! But so sad now that he retired and I am having a very difficult time trying to find another doctor like him. It is difficult finding a doctor willing to listen, explain and make sure you understand everything before you leave. Veronica and his staff always made my husband and I feel like part of the team/family. I am sure going to miss him and his staff!

Dr. Burkhead has been my ob/gyn since 2002. He provides excellent care. Explains everything step by step every visit. Has always seen me on time and not rushed. He is very courteous, professional, and caring.

I was referred to him by my former OB- he is an excellent and bed side manners is great ???? he performed my hysterectomy in 2017 and discussed the procedure and made me feel at ease.

Absolutely the BEST OB I have ever had! Been with him with my last 3 out of 4 pregnancies, including a VBAC. He is super nice and gentle. I couldn't ask for a better OB!

I have been seeing Dr. Burkhead since my first pregnancy. After complications from a second pregnancy and fertility issues, he delivered my son in 2016. He is patient and understanding. I can always expect a response to a message I sent online or a phone call. He’s very attentive and an excellent doctor. I feel blessed to be his patient

Dr. Burkhead is by far the best OB/Gyn and doctor in general that I have ever seen. He sincerely cares for his patients and their wellbeing, plus he is great at explaining and making sure you fully understand everything. He is patient and lets you express your concerns and actively listens and validates you. I can not say enough good things about this excellent doctor.

I met Dr.Burkhead on 2/16 when I went into labor. At first I was scared of delivering with someone other than my Ob-Gyn Dr.Sander. But that changed the minute I met him, made me feel very comfortable. He’s very knowledgeable, has great bedside manner.Shortly after arriving baby had complications but he knew exactly what to do and acted fast. I knew my baby and I were in great hands.We received outstanding care from him.He didn’t deliver my baby because my doctor arrived. But I’m forever thankful

I started seeing Dr.Burkhead for my pregnancy back in 2015. I was high risk and I had a lot of emotional issues going on. He was very helpful and very knowledgeable. He responded to all my request and questions. I hate he couldn't make it to my delivery because his daughter had a competition in Mexico at the time. My birth really happened out the blue . He would have caught me if baby girl decided to weight 3 more days. I really hate that my insurance doesn't cover me under his care anymore.

Dr. Burkhead has been my ob/gyn for 15 years. I first visited him with the pregnancy of my son. He has been nothing but kind, professional and courteous throughout the 15 years. When I make an appointment I can expect to be seen at the designated appointment time and not have to wait hours to be seen. and he doesn't rush you through the appointment. When I had to have surgery Dr. Burkhead walked me through the entire process from beginning to end. He genuinely cares about his patients.

Great bedside manners. Excellent Dr. He will return calls himself if you have any questions. Listen to you, as well as making sure you understand everything at your visit. I truly love him. He has been my Dr.for almost 20 yrs. Dr.Burkhead genuinely cares about his patients.
