Sought 2nd Opinion, Recommended CBT, Now I'm Dying
I was having some issues that appeared to have a neurological basis, so I was referred to a local neurologist who ran a large battery of tests in July 2019. The neurologist gave up and said it was conversion disorder. I asked for a second opinion and was referred to Dr. Grimes in November. The day before the appointment, I was called and told that since conversion disorder was a psychiatric diagnosis, that the neurologist I was referred to for the second opinion wouldn't see me. I pleaded to be seen so I was worked in the following day and saw Dr. Grimes. He rushed the exam and the appointment and said, hey you have conversion disorder, how about trying cognitive behavioral therapy? Well I tried CBT for 9 months only to get worse. I started seeing another neurologist and was diagnosed in 2022 with a rare neurodegenerative disease called Multiple System Atrophy with Cerebellar Ataxia. I'm only 49 and now on home hospice. If you have a prior psych history, go elsewhere than IU Neurology.

He's a quack
6 years of personal mistreatment. He's treated and diagnosed me with ms and lupus in 2016. 2022 he tells me i dont have either, I just take ocrevus just in case. If you want to line a clowns pockets, I'd pick a better clown than Grimey Jaison. He needs to be half as intelligent as he is arrogan. I've never been comfortable with him, and really took seeing a dr that doesn't talk to me like Grimey Jaison does to realize he doesn't deserve the place I let him have in my care.

Dr Grimes was my dads Neurologist after a stroke. He was not only a excellent Dr, but his bed side manners were even better. He treated dad, and our family with respect, and spent time explaining things which were not easy for us to understand. No question, we highly recommend Dr Grimes, for our family and friends. His staff at his office, also very professional, yet very nice. Thank you. The Marvin Bettenbrock family

I am giving a low review mostly because I was taken a lab test which I was told that it was vital, Like a life-or-death situation, and it's been more than 2 months and I still cannot get a result from these practice. It seems like nobody cares about their patients here. I tried to make an appointment and they told me it would be about 8 to 9 months till the next available appointment. This is highly unusual. I tried to see this doctor but they tell me I can only see his nurse practitioner.

We had to wait 3 months to get in to see Dr. Grimes. His staff said that they didn't have my son's test results. They found them but he couldn't view his MRI. He assured me that he would find the images and would call me. It has been 1 1/2 weeks and I have even called to ask why he hasn't called. His visit consisted of saying we need to see another neurologist at Riley. We can't get in there until July!! I will not go back to IU! Still no diagnosis. Awful!!

DR. Grimes is a wonderful doctor has helped my son very much, on the other hand his staff is a total nightmare. My son has recently had a major flare with his MS and has been trying to get a message to Dr. Grimes. The staff has been very uncooperative has lied to us several times has given medical advice without even discussing issues with the doctor. Has called my son a pest for calling trying to get answers and suggestions on what he should do. Staff needs fired!
