Bills for introducing him self has high care MDM
Charges even if no service rendered.Had to go to ER for blood clots in chest vein end of July. Dr Ahdoot introduced himself while I was in ICU and told me to make appointment. Tried to make appointment and was told he wasn't taking any new patients. Figured had two other doctors dealing with issue. Now over 4 months later I get a bill for a 75 minute 'high care medical observation' for $370. He spoke with me for 10 minutes, max. Only thing I got from him was his business card after an introduction. Little observation and no decision.

On Staff at Hoag. Do Not Use Him.
J. Ahdoot was the pulmonologist Hoag Hosp referred my 90 y/o father to. He was on call that day when xray revealed a 4 cm lump in my Dad's lung. A biopsy & bronchoscopy was scheduled & performed. The Pvt. RN for my dad & my mom said Ahdoot was uncommunicative. My mom tried repeatedly to make a followup appointment, never got a call back. Two office girls speak very fast broken English & are VERY difficult. Dr's biopsy was supposedly neg., a false finding. The Hoag hospitalist Dr. Liao said it was a failed biopsy. A 4cm spiculated mass was next to esophagus. How did he miss THAT? Correct diagnosis was metastacized lung C. Dr. Ahdoot wanted to perform ANOTHER procedure after the first biopsy, an invasive transthoracic biopsy, so Medicare could be billed. (My father died 1 wk later.) Dr. Ahdoot is not interested in pt. care, only in procedures in hospital to bill Medicare. Horrible pt care & communication from this dr & staff. If he is the pulmonologist at your hospital, DON'T go.

I’ve been a patient if dr. Ahdoot’s for 30 yrs. actually was one of his first patients. I’ve been treated horribly the last year. My husband who is also a patient was diagnosed with lung cancer. The day after his biopsy Dr. Ahdoot phoned me to complain about our pharmacy, and how he didn’t have time to deal with them. Inthought he was calling to console us. I’m sooooo disappointed. He’s changed very much over the last few years. Hard to believe, but he’s changed from an amazing compassionate doctor, in to a doctor that cannot be bothered by myself, or my husband that is in a very real fight for his life. He has no concern for myself as one of his first patients. His staff is confused and lie. I can’t deal with this doctor that I trusted with my and my husbands health and am in a position that I’ve had to find another physician, when my husband and I are in poor health. Fortunately, we have a great oncologist. Now I have to find a new primary physician for me and my husband. Angry

Dr. Ahdoot was the pulmonologist which Hoag Hosp in Irvine referred my elderly father to because he was on call that day when an x-ray revealed a 4 cm. lump in my father's lung. A biopsy and bronchoscopy was scheduled and performed. My mother tried repeatedly to make that follow-up appointment and never got a call back. I was finally able to schedule an appointment for them, after being disconnected repeatedly. The two office girls are VERY difficult to understand. As for follow-up, my Dad was too weak to come into the office even via wheelchair, and I told the office girl this. We requested a phone call in place of a visit. We never got a call from Dr. Ahdoot after multiple messages. The biopsy was called a "failed biopsy" by the Hoag hospitalist Dr. Liao because insufficient material was removed to test. AFTER PUTTING MY 90-yr-old Dad through that. The correct diagnosis was metasticized lung cancer from which he passed 6 days later. There is a complete lack of communication.

I was charged for a post op consult for take home medicine. The dr stepped into the room and asked if if had my pain medication set up for home. I told him the nurse informed me a schedule was set up. The dr did not review the schedule with me or actually have any input in set up of the plan. It turns out the set up schedule was a copy of one from a previous incident to reduce my back pain. A consult should include actual discussion with the Dr. on the issue involved.

I was ordered to get a home sleep study & was told that they ordered the machines & they will call me. Over 6 weeks later, when I still hadn't heard from them, I called in & they said "Oh, they just came in today" - sure! When I went into pick it up (office lights off), I waited 10 min. while the receptionist and office mngr continued their personal conversation. The report didn't include the prescription page but did include a neck measurement which was never done. Never even saw Dr. Adhoot!

I would NEVER recommend anyone go to Dr. Ahdoot. He 'cared' for my mother at a local hospital, not the sarcasm. He was rude, dismissive and very cavalier about her diagnosis and familial concerns. He gave inconsistent information to us and orders to nursing staff. There is a world of difference between pneumonia and lymphoma but he threw out the worst without positive test results and was annoyed when we called him to check on the test results. Very very poor patient management.

Please please save yourself the trouble. As I write this I am in tears. While, Dr. Ahdoot is lovely his staff is the worst I have every had the misfortune if meeting. They incorrectly wrote up the doctors orders for a CT Scan that I needed. After 11 phone calls - I still do not have the corrected paperwork. One young lady promised yesterday to fax after her lunch. Never an apology! Tomorrow I am picking up my file and starting over - I have never encountered this with any doctor's office
