Find someone else!
Dr. Jack Hou is a very in-mature doctor and I'm so surprise that Adventist Health would have him on staff. He takes every patient question/comment to heart as an "insult" - seems he expected hugs and kisses from patient facing possible prostate cancer - shocking news to say the least so wanted questions answered and options fully explained - acted like I was "questioning" his authority or professionalism. Find another doctor OTHER than the 3 doctors in Urology at Adventist Health, Bakersfield.

I have recurrent urinary tract infections for years that my family doctor didn’t do anything about. Finally she sends me to see Dr Hou. Dr Hou is very kind and take his time to explain things to me. He explained to me the testings needed. I went through the procedures and was diagnosed with bladder cancer which he caught early and had surgery. I have been cancer free since. I am so glad Dr Hou is in Kingman.

My husband had blood in his urine, it turned out he had kidney stone. Dr. Hou saved him. We really appreciate his patience in explaining procedures and good bedside manners. He cares!

Dr Hou was prompt, listened carefully, reviewed my test results (which I had in Bullhead through a Urologist I was completely dissatisfied with) and explained what my problem was and how to treat it in a way I could understand. My wife and I were very impressed by his bedside manner.

He did not listen to a word I said, And when I told him( for the second time) the two drugs he recommended I have tried an had bad side effects , He said its that or surgery an gave me the scripts any way. Did not explain further . He did make another appointment for me. which I CANCELLED.

My husband and I were referred to see Dr. Hou through our family doctor. Dr Hou is a very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable doctor. He takes his time to explain things to me and my husband. Very good bedside manner. Very pleased with our experiences during the three visits that I have had. The staff is also very helpful and friendly. Glad to see Kingman has such wonderful doctor. Our neighbor has many wonderful things to say about Dr. Hou as well.

I was scheduled as a new patient with someone else. But after waiting 30 minutes in the overflowing area I was just thrilled to see anyone. His bedside manner was brusque. His staff was incompetent losing my urine sample. I was told I needed surgery after he asked me three times what job I did. I guess he wasn't listening since I told him twice I was retired. The lady at the desk said they'd call me. When I called back they said they'd probably call next week. Probably? Awful!
