Dr. J Rick Adams, MD

I’ve been with Dr. Adams since even before he joined up with MDVIP. The price for this service is a little on the pricy side, but the convenience of 24/7 service in my opinion is probably worth it. I’ve had issues happen on a Friday evening or during the weekend that concerned me. I sent either an email or text to him explaining the issue, and usually withing minutes I received and answer on the best course of action to take. If something comes up that seems serious, I get same day service. With less important issues, I schedule it with Dodie and usually still seen within a day or two. This availability is usually far better than with regular physician. This is very much appreciated when important concerns or questions and even emergencies arise. He and his staff are always courteous, attentive, knowledgeable and professional. He listens to my concerns and answers all my questions during either my scheduled appointments in his office, or via email or text. We highly recommend him.

With Dr Adams being a concierge physician (in MD VIP) access to and communication with him are far better than a regular physician. This is very much appreciated when important concerns or questions and even emergencies arise. He (and his staff) are always courteous, attentive, knowledgeable and professional. Time spent with him is always valued by both of us. He listens well, and respects my point of view. I also very much appreciate his periodic communications on the how & why aspects of pro-active health management.

After 20+ years as a patient of Dr. Adams, I've recently had to part company for two reasons: 1) his approach to my healthcare has changed over the years to conform more with the government and insurance companies (who are practicing medicine without a license, a felony), and 2) he has become part of the MDVIP concierge form of "healthcare", where you pay $1700.00 for the privilege. He has become more interested in the $$ than being a true MD who used to really care about his patients. Also, he was John Adams, MD when I first met him. Now he is J. Rick Adams, MD. Identity crisis?

Although Dr Adams promises to see you when you are sick same day or next day. He refused to care for me. Doctor Adams and Nurse Dodi made me feel that they did not have time for me to be sick. I was told to drink honey for more than one month.

I have been a patient of Dr. Adams for several years and have had only excellent experiences with him. He is not only very knowledgeable, but also compassionate and genuinely interested in helping me maintain a healthy life. He has always been quickly responsive to my concerns and provides both my husband and me with immediate care when we’ve needed it. We feel Dr. Adams knows us well and cares about us, and we highly recommend him.

this review is for the whole group of doctors in medical colleagues of texas. A doctors job is to see patients when they are sick and you can forget getting in to see any of these doctors. I am not a new patient but my daughter is because she is only 15 and has not needed to see a doctor yet. They all refused to see her despite her urgent need to be seen. I am disgusted by these people and I will not ever go to them for help again. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME with people who do not care!
