Dr. Ivan Colon, MD

My visit was AWESOME. I've been to an Urologist prior to seeing Dr.Colon,I decided that I needed a second opinion, because I had a slightly elevated PSA reading. IM GLAD I DID! The prior doctor wanted to do BIOPSY,glad I declined, Dr.Colon decided that we do a less AGGRESSIVE treatment and I'm so happy he did. Very satisfied and I'm able to sleep at nights. The staffs were very welcoming,warn and pleasant. With Dr.Colon, I feel confident that he'll do what's right. Very caring, compassionate,explains diagnoses in simple layman's term. Can't say enough, HAPPY THAT I FOUND HIM, HES A BLESSING!!

I went with a friend to her appointment with Dr. Colon. I found him to be arrogant, uncommunicative and have a terrible bedside manner. He did not follow up with my friend after her surgery to see how she was doing. He did not give my friend her biopsy results (which were that she had cancer) for over three weeks because he was away on vacation. And when he did deliver the news it was done terribly. I would never wish the experience my friend had with Dr Colon on anyone. I also found the office staff to be rude and unhelpful. And when my friend finally went to a different doctor to be treated, they had to redo the surgery Dr. Colon performed because it was done incorrectly.

Terrible, doesn't return calls when results of test came out positive.

Great Doctor. Very caring. My wife had major surgery with him and she came home the next day. Amazing!

Although my first visit was ok, I decided to wait until the follow up visit to fully judge him. I must say, his treatment and advice fixed my bladder problem. “ he really hit the nail in the head with my condition!” I am very happy with him. Now I see why he is so busy! This doctor is a straight up shooter. Will continue to see him.

Came to see him after being dismissed by other doctors. He seemed to care and too care of my problem. Although I am not 100%, he definitely helped me and will continue to seek his advice.

My First visit was cordial. I choose Dr. Colon as as worked with previously at SUNY Downstate UHB where he performed the first robotic surgery in Brooklyn, NY. Years later he did my robotic surgery at the NY Methodist Hospital, Brooklyn campus. Now I feel wonderful, no complications. Thank you Dr. Colon

I don't have a benchmark of Urologists but he seemed very capable and had a good "bedside" manner. I don't feel the need to look elsewhere. I would recommend to others

He seemed competent but clearly the mandate is process patients as quickly as possible and he didn’t seem very interested in my situation. In addition to my co pay his group charged me a fee over what my insurance company paid.

Quick in & out after just a few questions. Prescribe me antibiotics for reasons unknown, he didn't take the time to explain it to me. Plus the pharmacy never received the prescription. Was suppose to arraign two test for me, that never happened. I tried to call the office no one answered the phone.

I have seen quite a few doctors in my life time and Dr. Ivan Colon is one of the worst. He prescribed a certain med for me but there was a problem with my insurance coverage, neither he nor anyone in his office made an attempt to fix the problem or change my medication. He wouldn’t even respond to my emails. Save yourself some time and aggravation and do not go to this derelict, neglectful Dr.
