Dr. Israel Santander wanted to amputate half of my moms foot not even one week after her accident, not giving her a chance to heal, judging her based on his “knowledge” because she is a smoker and not listening to what she, the patient wants. He made us feel extremely uncomfortable because of how much he was pushing amputation on her, so uncomfortable that we had a health care directive document notarized so no decisions could be made without my permission. We got a second opinion and this doctor was amazing, her last resort is amputation. Instead of amputating half of her foot, my mom had the TIPS amputated off 3 of her toes TWO months after the accident. Fast forward to one year later, it’s like it never even happened. She is walking normally and off pain medicine, able to return back to her life. Had she listened to Dr. Santander like she almost did, her recovery would’ve been much more difficult. If you get this doctor, do yourself a favor and get a second opinion.

Highly Recommend
The surgery and after care my son received from Dr. Santander was outstanding. His surgery was 7 1/2 hours and Dr. Santander explained every detail to us in a professional and caring way.

Great podiatrist!
Dr. Santander has a great bedside manner - he was great with my teenager who was very anxious about the visit.
