Impatient & no empathy to young patients
I have a 2 year old daughter, the appointment is obviously uncomfortable for such a young child. Having to be held down, lights being shined in their eyes, waiting for hours and hours & dilated eyes. She has no sympathy or patience and talks to her patients parents in a very demeaning way. My daughter was screaming being held down to examine her left eye, I asked if she could have a break, catch her breath before having her right eye checked. She abruptly says well then I have to get my next patient and storms out of the room. No understanding, no trying to make the child feel comfortable or relaxed. Just demands we hold my daughter down. It was extremely rude as we had to come back as the first appointment was unsuccessful. She’s very stuck in old ways and I do not recommend her if you have young children as it would be a traumatizing experience for them based on our experience with her. I feel bad for her nurses as they try to make up for what she lacks.

Poor surgical results
I had eye muscle surgery with Dr. Ludwig March 2022. I went to her because of my double vision. My double vision since the surgery has been much worse. I recently went to Mayo Clinic to discuss what to do next and they could not believe what Ludwig had chosen to do to my eyes considering my diplopia. I now have to have corrective surgery where they will also do what Ludwig should have done in the first place. The poor surgical results is one thing, but Dr. Ludwig does not listen to her patients. I told her at two follow-ups appointments that my double vision was much worse but she did not accept that. She did a ridiculously fast follow-up exam and deemed me much improved, despite me telling her otherwise. Waiting at her appointments takes forever, but the attention she gave me at my appointment was minimal. They overcharged me by $1,000 for my eye surgery and then held on to that money for over a month before sending me a refund check. Go elsewhere!

Our appointment was at 10:20 and here we are 12:30 and still waiting. My sons dilation will probably wear off before he’s seen. She wouldn’t listen to what I was trying to explain and ASSUMED my son had autism without even looking at the chart to see he has Down syndrome. She was very impatient and her bedside manner needs to improve especially if she is working with children.

My 6 year old had a first appointment with her and she was great but 4 hours wait time. We were told it was only this long for the first appointment but unfortunately second time we saw her, it was over 2 hrs wait. We appreciate her thoroughness but I can't continue bringing my son here because if the long wait. It seems to me they are overbooking patients and it's just not worth it??

Dr Ludwig operated on the muscles of my eyes in 1996. I could not drive and reading was difficult. All went great and now 24 years later I still have almost perfect vision! Thank You Dr Ludwig. Col Ret Mike Wonner

After 2 surgeries my eyes are worse than before surgery. Dr Ludwigs said I should “close one eye when driving” to alleviate my double vision. I am now facing additional surgery at Mayo Clinic to correct her surgeries.

When I was five years old I had lazy eye surgery by a local Dr. 38 years later, my lazy eye came back and Dr. Ludwig was the ONLY Dr. That would and could correct my eyes through all that scar tissue. She is kind, compassionate and excellent at what she does! I would recommend Dr. Ludwig to anyone! Thanks, Dr. Ludwig for helping me see 100% again!

Dr. Ludwig has performed 2 surgeries on my daughter the first being when she was 23 months old the 2nd when she was just over 3 yrs.old. Shortly after the 2nd surgery my daughter started walking without assistance her eyes no longer appeared crossed and the thickness of her glasses has decreased quite a bit. We love Dr. Ludwig our daughter loves her as well. She cares about her patients you don't just feel like a number with her and we would recommend her to anyone searching for an eye doctor.
