I chose Dr. Fisher specifically because on her NYU profile it says she does not deliver babies anymore. I assumed she would be focusing on post OB care for older women and perhaps know more about perimenopause and menopause. I was incorrect. My new patient appointment took approximately 15 minutes, including the pap smear. I've never had such a quick new patient appointment. When I tried to ask about perimenopausal issues. She asked me 'are you still getting your period?' I said yes, then she said 'well then you aren't in perimenopause'. She was soo dismissive and uninterested, I decided it was best to not argue or inquire and just get the appointment over with.A few months later I received a notice that she was no longer practicing at NYU. So maybe she was just over it? Maybe frustrated with an impersonal hospital system that I know can put stress and pressure on doctors to produce PROFITS! I don't know, but it was a Very strange appointment overall and I wouldn't go back.

Dr. Fischer great doctor
Dr. Fischer has been my doctor for almost 30 years and I hope she continues to practice in another location. NYU seems very unprofessional in their manner of communicating.

Fischer was rude, very unprofessional, and refused to give me a pap smear even though I was in pain and I told her my insurance covered it. She said she doesn't care even if I had HPV, she still wouldn't give me a pap smear.

ABSOLUTELYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY DISGUSTING! The most unprofessional doctor I have ever encountered. she was so dismissive and condescending during my appointment. I was referred to her for a procedure, she cancelled it because she was on vacation and then I had to follow up numerous times to re-schedule and she never did. SO NEGLECTFUL AND UNPROFESSIONALLLL DO NOT WASTE YOUR HUMAN WITH THESE LOW GRADE OF A HUMAN BEING.

As others have said, Dr. Fischer was incredibly dismissive and condescending. I informed her that I'd had several traumatic experiences with gynecologists in the past, and she pressed me to share those experiences with her, then proceeded to add her name to the list of doctors that have been callous and disrespectful. I cried throughout our entire appointment.

Dr. Fischer is a rude, condescending, and unprofessional medical provider. When I tried to discuss my symptoms and the pain I was experiencing, she was completely dismissive of what I was telling her and frequently spoke over me. If you can avoid this medical provider, please do. If you cannot, please leave a review about your experience and file a complaint through the NY State Department of Health.

I had a horrible experience with Dr. Fischer. I wish I had read the reviews before but I had an emergency situation and my surgeon recommended I see Dr. Fischer before going into the emergency room. She was extremely dismissive and rude. I strongly tried for about 20 minutes to advocate for myself and my pain and she dismissed everything saying I was fine and I did not need any follow up and said that they would not find anything. I was so overwhelmed I left the appointment crying and so upset that I had been so dismissed. I scheduled an appointment immediately after with another provider and got incredible care and an ultrasound on the spot. I left Dr. Fischer feedback on her behavior from the appointment and she responded with very snarky feedback. Could not caution someone against seeing her more.

It was the first time that I saw Dr. Fischer. She is in the practice of my regular gyn. He wasn't available so I agreed to see her instead. Big mistake. She completely negated my symptoms and I found that I had to defend myself against her dismissive comments. I know what I'm experiencing. How can Dr. Fischer or any doctor tell me that when I say I'm experiencing symptoms that are interfering with my quality of life tell me that she finds that hard to believe! I argued with her for 20 minutes and finally gave up. It was an awful experience. I'm thinking of changing practices because of her.

I'm not going back after two visits and her finally telling me that my pain and discomfort must involve the bladder because she can't find a GYN issues. Then she said you need a bladder specialist, I can't help you. She was abrupt and dismissive and refused to suggest a bladder specialist. As it turned out, no bladder specialist had availability but I finally found a GYN who has helped me and my bladder is uninvolved. Treatment requires expertise and commitment from the doctor and apparently those are not Dr. Fischer's forte.

Rather brusque and rushed. Not a good listener, came to conclusions prior to my explanations and concerns. Terrible communication skills. However staff was quite good, nurse was excellent, which is why it’s two stars instead of one.

This doctor is a psychopath. Avoid at all costs. Poor listener, condescending, arrogant. Told me my issue was due to aging, I'm 35. Dismissed my physical symptoms & told me it was all in my head and others have it worse. Because of how stressed she made me, exam was painful. I am a strong, confident person & I am not sensitive. In fact, I prefer straightforward & logical explanations from people. I left her office crying. This woman isn't fit to be a mortician, let alone a physician.

Dr. Fischer is THE WORST. She is heartless, cold, combative, rude, and dismissive. She rushes through her appointments, cutting you off or speaking over you. She was so rushed in fact that she physically HURT ME during the physical exam. I was left in tears after my appointment with her because of her abrasive and argumentative personality. Whereas a gynecologist should be warm and compassionate given the nature of the work they do, Dr. Fischer is a cold and uncaring shell of a woman.
