Dr. Huber Matos-Garsault, MD

This guy...I saw him through the VA at VA 1 North on Jefferson in Jacksonville. He was everything I hate in a doctor. He does no follow-up until you request another procedure, then makes you wait until he feels like seeing you. He doesn't come to appointments on time, he was over 20 minutes late to my last appointment. When he heard how frustrated I was with them, he sat and smirked and acted arrogant which really helped me to understand exactly who he is. Long story short, I contacted my senator and congressman regarding his attitude and behavior. He no longer works at the Jacksonville VA from what I understand, but I found out from one of his colleagues that he's just relocating to the Nashville VA. I'll be back in touch with my congressman and senator this week to let them know that relocating him is not the answer, he needs to be removed from working in the VA as anything above cafeteria, canteen, or janitorial staff. I had both in -person and telehealth appointments with him.

Dr. Matos has been managing my chronic back pain. I was barely able to walk when I started. He is caring, aware and attentive. Some doctors want to toss pain pills at your issue or perform invasive procedures, he has not been one of those. He knows what he is doing when it comes to pain management.

Dr. Matos is great! He is compassionate, understanding and cares about his patients. He gave me informed options and treatment plans. The visit was very educational and therapeutic.

Excellent doctor, compassionate and truly listens to his patients. I would absolutely recommend Dr.matos to anyone who needs a pain specialist.

1st & only visit: Dr. Huber Matos-Garsault insulted me, said it was my fault because I wasn't trying, told me I should wake up at 4 a.m. to work out, etc. . . . I was in tears the whole time. Why I didn't just leave? Maybe I was just in shock. ---I have since seen a great pain doctor. He read the imaging results & looked at the images, asked me investigative questions, and developed a plan. The first injection worked so well that I was able to MOVE again, garden again, bike again . . . and get up early every day to live again. ---Having a car accident caused my injury. What "doctor" would blame me for that pain???

This doctor repeated tried to use iodine contrast even though I told him multiple times I am alergic to iodine. He performed a procedure that involved putting a needle in my nerve without fluids, any topical pain medication during the procedure, or any other general anesthetic that all doctors I've had since have done. After this he disappeared for months and I was notified I needed to find a new doctor because his practice at that location was closing.

20 yrs after a Horrific car accident, Dr Matos was the Fresh set of eyes I needed at just the right time. My quality of life has improved beyond adjectives. He's also a great guy. Thank You.

The most genuine and caring doctor I’ve met. Cares about you and your health and or pain. Great bedside manner. Goes above and beyond

This doctor treated me horribly. He was extremely rude to the point of yelling at me in front of others for asking simple questions about my treatment plan. This was because he was because he has such a God Complex he didn't like me questioning it. I've never experienced something so horrible by just simply going to see a doctor. Stay far away from this one!! He acted so hostile that day that I honestly should have called the police.

My daughter was just told she needs to see pain management. I insisted she makes sure she sees Dr. Matos. He's an amazing doctor and I trust he will take excellent care of my child as he has me. I get injections in my back and I will NOT ALLOW any other doctor to do them. I trust Dr. Matos impiclicity. He's kind, thorough, puts me at ease, one of the best doctors I've ever had.

I am terminally ill. From the moment that I met Dr.Matos I was treated with concern, respect, compassion, professionalism, and outstanding care. I feel listened to by Dr.Matos. He addresses every one of my concerns. He makes sure I understand the effects of my medications and other options that are available. Dr.Matos has been very comforting and shows heart when I am scared about being terminally ill. I am grateful for him and his staff.

I was hurt in a car accident 10 years ago and had been to several Pain Management Physicians. I found myself giving up and just trying to deal with the pain I had. It wasn't until I found Dr. Matos that I had a Dr. actually listen to me and help me get out of the current pain I was in. Dr. Matos put a plan in place and acted on it. I have now been pain free for 7 months!! I would and do recommend Dr. Matos to anyone I come across who complains of real pain. BEST DR. EVER!!

I saw Dr Matos for a shoulder problem. He is professional, caring and explained the procedure so it was easily understandable. I had complete confidence in him. He performed the procedure on my right shoulder and the results were actually better than I expected. The pain I had experience for years was mitigated and I was able to sleep at night. I had a torn labrum and biceps tendon and several physicians suggested surgery. I ams very happy i went to Dr Matos instead
