Best decision I made to choose Dr. Basmajian!! I am a 60-year-old female and have been athletic my whole life. I originally was scheduled with another excellent surgeon but learned he only performs hip replacement posteriorly. For me, a yoga instructor and fitness buff, the recovery would have been more difficult and prolonged and possibly may not have allowed me to continue teaching yoga. I changed to Dr. Basmajian because I learned he performs his replacements anteriorly so that my recovery would be shorter and less difficult. I am in my third week of recovery and free of pain, still have some muscle soreness, but hip pain is totally gone! I feel ready to go back to long walks and hikes and cross-fit, but because bone needs time to adhere to appliance, I will need to wait at least 6-8 weeks for that. I am doing some very short walks and light cycling every few days along with physical therapy 4-5 times a week and lots of rest to heal hip area. Best office staff ever!!

Basmajian completed a hip replacement for me 4/15/19 and I was walking that afternoon. Wow! Everything went great! Now after 3 weeks I am walking and exercising totally pain free, except maybe from some sore muscles which haven’t been worked in a while??. I was referred to Basmajian from my primary care and found out he specialized in the Anterior approach hip replacements. He said he does about 100/year and has been doing them for about 8 years. He required PMVH to purchase a Hana table (needed for Anterior approach surgery) prior to him joining their team. Basmajian’s office staff are great to work with, his scheduling was easy, the operation went very well, the follow ups are welcoming and effective. I would totally recommend Hrayr Basmajian. And,…he has a great sense of humor, and he’s from Detroit!

On Dr. Basmajian’s YouTube video, he says he loves hip surgery because it gives people back their lives because it gives people back their mobility. And that’s exactly what he did for my mom. He’s an amazing doctor who works miracles. He gave my mom back her life. And by giving her back her life, he gave all of us (her whole family) back our lives. She never imagined she would be able to walk again. Dr. Basmajian is God's gift to Orthopedic Surgery!!!

Dr Basmajian has changed my life!! Best Surgeon!! I was born with hip dysplasia and didn’t even know this until I was in so much pain I could barely walk at age 35-40. I thought my life was over until I meet Dr Basmajian. He is one of the nicest Dr’s I’ve ever met and his staff his wonderful as well! I have recovered so well from my Hip replacement my friends and family say you would never know I had just had surgery 6 months ago. Look no further than Dr Basmajian!!!! You won’t regret it!

I can't begin to say enough about Dr. Hrayr Basmajian. He has been an amazing answer to our prayers for my Uncle Jackie Moore. My uncle has had both of his hips replaced and is able to walk on his own after only 3 weeks. We have had other doctors tell us that he will end up in a wheelchair but Dr. Basmajian took him on and the out come is well beyond anything we could have hoped for. We owe Dr. Basmajian so much and can't thank him enough. I would recommend him to EVERYONE!

I met Dr. Basmajian in the emergency room when I fractured my ankle. He was very calming, very reassuring, and he did a fantastic job repairing the break. My followups were with other doctors (I am in a different insurance network) and both of the orthopedists commented that it was the best alignment that they had ever seen on a break that severe. He is incredibly skilled.

Dr. Basmajian is God's gift to trauma surgery. We were blessed with him performing life-saving surgeries on our then 6-year-old daughter. He should lecture on bedside manner. He spoke to our daughter, held her hand, listened to her, and helped alleviate some of her fears. No question was ever answered as if it was stupid or taking too much of his time. All of his follow-up visits were something she looked forward to. He saved not just her leg. He saved her life.

I had a hip fracture from an MVA, and Dr. Basmajian was amazing from the moment I met him in the hospital. He took his time to explain the surgery, was attentive in checking on me post op, and fixed the fracture with as little hardware as possible. He made sure to make the incision scar as carefully placed and stitched as possible, which I feel is above and beyond what he needed to do. In every follow up visit, he was professional but still warm and he's so definitely an expert in the field.

Dr. Basmajian gave me my life back. When I first diagnosed with Hip Dysplasia I had so many questions; how did I develop this, what can be done, plus many other questions. Some of these questions I even asked multiple times, but each time Dr. Basmajian took the time to answer each question. Dr. Basmajian’s commitment to giving me back my quality of life has been remarkable and a true testament to his character, education and experience. Saying ‘Thank you Dr. Basmajian’ will never be enough.
