Dr. Howard Dobson III, MD

Dr. Dobson did a biopsy on a cyst he cut out from my arm and I was diagnosed with Merkel Cell Carcinoma, a deadly fast acting cancer and, he acted right away cutting out more tissue and then a surgical examination at the hospital. He got everything out. It’s been more than 5 years and the cancer hasn’t come back. Dr. Dobson saved my life.

Kind caring compassionate. Office staff top notch and exemplary. Both the doctor and his staff are accomodating and kind, prompt and professional. I have been his patient for over 8 years and I have consistenly received nothing but the best from Dr. Dobson and his staff. Some of the negative reviews are simply not true. Having had many surgeries myself, I had a corneal abrasion elsewhere and it was the anesthesiologists/recovery room staff that were at fault. It had nothing to do with the surgery. I read the 3 negative reviews, and wonder at their accuracy. Dr. Dobson has excellent bedside manner and is never dismissive and always answers each and every question. He explains things throoughly and knows his craft. He is so kind and has never made anyone feel humiliated with anything. I had my entire rectum and colon removed and have a bag, and he is the kindest warmest individual I have everr met as a doctor.

Brother in law scheduled for robotic surgery for multiple abdominal hernias. Instructed to be at the ambulatory care center at 10:30am. Approximately 1 hour later in pre=op with IV fluids, then proceeded to wait just under 7 HOURS to be brought back for surgery. This is ludicrous and completely unacceptable. If you schedule so many surgeries you are making your patients wait 7 hours you are scum.

Was diagnosed with a prolapsed rectum by GP and referred to Dr. Dobson. Words cannot describe how embarrassing this condition is or how badly it affects your daily life. On initial visit with Dobson the first question he asked was why I thought I had this condition. I explained my GP diagnosed and referred me. Dobson dismissed this and told me I had hemorrhoids. I explained to him what my conditions were but he insisted I had hemorrhoids. He reluctantly examined me then stated, "oh yeah, it is a prolapsed rectum". He started to walk out then asked if I had any questions while he was standing in the doorway. Almost crying from humiliation I asked what to do now. Had a follow up visit with Dobson and he again dismissed my condition and concerns. After this visit his head nurse and office staff stopped all communication, would not schedule me, or return my phone calls. Dobson and his staff were completely unprofessional should never be considered an option for treatment.

Caring, professional, not rushed nor curt like the other surgeons in his office. Excellent bedside manner; had colon surgery using the daVinci system, went home on the second day after my surgery. None of the other surgeons could offer this at his hospital. He's the only one I would recommend in Brevard.

Dr Dobson performed a triple hernia operation on me. One inguinal hernia was too large for laparoscopic surgery and had to have a 4 inch incision. One week after my first appointment with him I was on the operating table. He could tell I was in bad pain and didn't want to make me wait. Less than 3 weeks after surgery and I feel brand new! My follow up visits were very thorough and never rushed. I feel blessed that I he was my surgeon.

I was a patient with diverticulitis. I had to go to the emergency room. Tests revealed diverticulitis. The hospital general Doctors called Dobson. From what I understand, because Dobson won't talk to me, is the three of them decided I needed a GYN. Hmmm. Total hysterectomy 30 years ago. Emergency surgery shortly after at Parrish hospital because I was on the verge of rupturing.

Excellent surgeon! Great bedside manner. Very thorough. Very knowledgeable and willing to go out on a limb for the patient.

I trust this man. I have had several hospital stays due to personal complications and this man has always given me his full attention. He takes his time to answer all your questions and clearly explain the procedures . Our family is truly grateful for Dr. Dobson and his entire medical staff. Thank you.

I had the privilege of working with Dr. Dobson for about a year prior to his moving to Florida. In terms of the performance of surgical cases he is the best I have seen ( I am also a general surgeon). His judgement and knowledge are the best. I would choose him as a surgeon for myself or family members. The "eyeball" story listed, sounds like a corneal abrasion, where patient is waking up tries to rub/and scratches their eye. "a punctured" eye makes no sense, with lower abdominal surgery.

After trying to avoid surgery, I researched choices for an abdominal hernia repair with the Davinci device and luckily I found Dr. Dobson. He and his staff were excellent. He took the time to answer all my questions thoroughly and even managed to set my nervous wife at ease (no easy task there!!) The surgery itself went flawlessly in Dr. Dobson’s hands and I am back to enjoying life with my grandkids and traveling with my wife. He has my highest recommendations- a caring doctor and person!

Had a procedure done by Dr Dobson and I cannot recommend him enough. He was very thorough in explaining things as we went along. His staff were also very friendly. I wish all my doctors were like Dr Dobson.

Best Surgeon in town. Had a robotic hernia repair this year and I finally feel great. Bedside manner was pleasant and professional. He performed lower abdomen hernia surgery on my son using the Da Vinci device. He punctured my sons right eyeball with the device. While in recovery room after surgery my son was screaming about his eye in extreme pain. Dr. Dobson and his staff ran away leaving the family alone. HE NEVER GOT BACK WITH US!! Had to go to eye specialist. STAY AWAY!!
