Terrible experience!
This was the worst experience. Zero bedside manner. Extremely combative! I was in the room with my sister in law who is in a lot of pain. He never introduced himself and immediately bashed her about her previous care in Fl. He wouldn’t stop even after it was obvious that she was getting upset. He was also stating very loudly that Medicare advantage plans are no good and wouldn’t stop. I’m sorry that I didn’t intercede while he treated her that way. In my opinion he didn’t care anything about her because he couldn’t help with her compression fractures and wasn’t going to make money off of her. Never said a word of encouragement or a goodby to either one of us. Being a good surgeon doesn’t mean anything if you treat your patients that way! The office staff and nurse were very nice and kind.

One year ago, I was told "Your back is as bad as it gets. I dont know how youre walking. You need surgery immediately and you will never run or ride horses again". Thank God I didn't listen to this kook. This was all on the strength of an x-ray, too. I went to PT, and started applying my own exercises for core stabilization. I ride my horse 5 days a week, have started running again,He was so rude, that I sat in my car and cried. And then I got angry and decided to prove him wrong. Here's to proving him wrong. Oh...btw....I'm 70. Steer clear of this hack.

I did not feel respected. My questions were not answered. He actually called me a whiner and said that any other spine surgeon would have me blackballed from Seaview Orthopaedics! All I wanted was help for the pain I was still suffering 9 months after spinal fusion surgery. He became infuriated when I suggested that the two sacral tears from a May 1, 2022 fall might have something to do with the pain. I did have trauma to my pelvis, after all. At this point, I had to cancel most recent appointment. I don't see any reason whatsoever to see him again. It is the same everytime I see him. He has never once suggested what I might do to relieve pain. I have been to pain management at Seaview already and that did not help. At this point, I just need to see another surgeon and NOT one from S.O. Good luck to all!

No bedside manner
No bedside manner. Did not want to answer any questions. Never spoke directly to me. I left the office more upset then I was walking in.

Doesn't know how to speak to older people
I went to Dr. Nguyen for neck pain. I immediately was given two xrays without even speaking with anyone. He came in and proceeded to show me on the xray that I had arthritis in my neck and there was nothing I could do about it. He was a wiseguy/smart alec in the way he answered my questions without any empathy or compassion. He callously advised to do what I want because I didn't have much time left! Maybe he thinks it's great to tell it like it is, but he was oblivious to his delivery, his impact, and his audience. His emotional intelligence is zero. He also focused only on the negative, giving me no real details about what I could do and what temporary positive effect it would have. I had to tell HIM. Plus, he was completely dismissive of any holistic avenue of treatment. I will continue with someone else who's more tuned in.

Amazing
I’m a year out from my cervical fusion and have been back working full time with no issues in 3 months. Dr. Nguyen spends the time to hear and talk to you, I’m grateful for his expertise and pain relief. I wish more doctors could treat you with respect and dignity like he does!

What a serious kook this man is. I went to him for back pain and sat there taking insults from this man for 30 minutes. If there was a knowledge scale for this man he would be on the lowest end of it. Seeing him in person, I cannot even understand how other people possibly gave this man above a 1 star review. Terrible bedside manner, completely rude, and overall has no knowledge of his field and deflected many of the problems as opposed to offering a solution. My Advice? if you have problems at home, dont bring them to the clinic, you've got serious issues.

If there was Zero star, I would’ve gave it to him. He has the worse bed side manners. I’m 35 years old, I went to him for back pain. He told me this “ you must deal with your body as 85 years old not 35 anymore”. He told me, I need to change my job, I need to find “sedentary kinda job where u sit down & do nothing”. He asked me if I’m married and told me”have your husband do all the work in the house”. He told me I can’t exercise, the most I could do is yoga. The best of all, he didn’t read the MRI images correctly. I received the MRI final report by radiologist with multiple herniated desks where he told me I only have minimal “desk bulge”. He even explained that I have “tiny whole in a tire”. I work in the health care profession and off course I have been a patient before, never met a doctor like him who told me nothing will help me including stating “ you need to live with this pain, get used to it and know that it’s only going to get worse”. He basically told me, my life is over.

I went to Dr. Nguyen for a follow up of my spine MRI. At the same time I told him how my numb foot and swollen knee was. I went to both his colleagues but he was the only one that thought about my Symptoms. He told me that my knee swelling and other issues of joint swelling was not due to injury so it is most likely metabolic. He was spot on to tell me what to do and to go to a rheumatologist. My diagnosis was known because of him. Thank you so very much for your intelligent analysis and patient with me. We need more doctors like him.

I have been dealing with Dr. Nguyen for the last two months. To say he is a quack is an understatement. The day of my first appointment I was told to rush to the office because I was his last patient at 3:30. I got there promptly at 3:20 and ended up waiting in the main waiting room for an hour. At 4:00 I was brought to a room. I heard someone gossiping about other doctors and a situation that happened at Jersey Shore UMC, low and behold it was Dr. Nguyen. After he entered the room at 5:00 pm he didn't look me in the eys, speak, he barely examined me to me, he spoke at me, and did not listen to the words coming out of my mouth. He ended up getting into an argument with me about a topic unrelated to my injury. I was there until 5:45 with no treatment plan. He is a textbook narcissist.

I have been under the care of Dr Nguyen for 3+ years. He’s very caring and thorough. Dr Nguyen successfully fought my insurance company and helped my family through an awful car accident. He helped me navigate through the worst time of my life. I am so confident in his skill and care, and I’d recommend him to all.

Dr. Nguyen is amazing. I came to him in 2016 with a neck injury from a car accident. MRI results - herniated discs on every level in my neck. I was in really bad shape and the pain was unimaginable. He immediately gave me relief by telling me exactly what needs to be done and how to fix it. Surgery would be my only relief. TY! May 2017 I had my first ACDF. C5, C6, C7 Then on November 2018 I had C3, C4 ACDF It's been 15 weeks And my body is no longer my prison. He's Excellent! He is my HERO!
