I found with patience on my part the initial language communications issues were easy to overcome by asking questions and by Dr. Maruyama’s willingness to write and draw to help. He has turned out to be an extremely astute physician, with empathy and sharp diagnostic skills. He also displayed a superior ability to cross reference conditions and meds and come up with not only a diagnosis and list of other possibilities and avoid drug interactions. He is thorough and patient and willing to go the extra mile for a patient. I am a retired physician as well as in long term difficulties from tick bite disease and a heart transplant recipient on immunosuppressive drug therapy. The preceding 3 issues do not make me an easy patient to deal with by anyone’s measure.

Fat shaming
I was there for a pap smear, an IUD removal, and a birth control prescription. The doctor insisted on weight loss drugs i.e. Wellbutrin. Nothing I was there for involved my weight and I didn't have any weight issues nor did I have high blood sugar, high blood pressure, or any other obesity related diseases or ailments.
