This doctor does not care about kids. My son has been at Pediactrics in Brevard for 12 years (since he was 5 years old now17). He trusted this practice because of Dr. Leiba. Dr Leiba was truly an amazing doctor who cared about his patients. Unfortunately for us, he retired. Recently my son asked to see a doctor due to a very personal issue that he wanted to talk a doctor about. I called the office to make an appointment with a male doctor for my teenage son to see since Dr Leiba has retired. Dr Nguyen had availability a few weeks later so we scheduled the appointment. My son left school 2 hours early to drive 17 miles to see Dr Nguyen. His father met him there. My son was 6 minutes late getting to the office so Dr Nguyen canceled the appointment. Wow. We have waited for doctors countless times...My son asked for help on his own Dr Nguyen, you failed. Parents, you should find another Dr that cares, this one just wants to show you who is boss, your child is not a priority 12 years at Pediactrics in Brevard - August 29, 2024

Dismissive
Advocating. I did have to find a new doctor for my kids. Dr. Nguyen refused all my referral requests. After months of asking he finally gave me the Physical Therapy referral and only because I went through Early Steps who wrote him a report and recommended it.I've wanted a neuro referral for Gunnar since he was atleast 3 months old and brought it back up at 6 months. I wanted Physical therapy at some point and definitely wanted orthopedic referral since he was 11 to 12 months old. Speech wasn't requested until 14 or 15 months and he has denied all.Now here we are at 16 months. He had his Physical therapy evaluation that I had to fight for. He is getting PT 2x a week for 6 months, he will be getting braces on both of his legs. They're recommending referrals for neuro, orthopedic and speech.I'm frustrated because now we are reacting instead of being proactive. I let this doctor and multiple other medical personnel fail him. I let them dismiss my concerns.

We are new to the area and heard positive reviews about the practice. My first was red was the patient information paperwork asking about my child’s gender at birth, pronouns, and what my child identifies as. I was able to move past that. The Dr we were able to get an appointment with was Dr. Nguyen, because he specialized with kids with ADHD and medication. Our previous Dr also specialized in ADHD, we were familiar with the APA protocols. My son is 16.First we were ok with him, but each visit after he became more and more rude. The final straw was when he walked in the room, told my son to get off the exam table and asked “Why are you even here you are none compliant” When we tried to explain what my son was feeling, how the medication was negatively effect his sleep and mood, the Dr was dismissive, and went on about how he has been doing this for over 20yrs. At that point my son said he wanted to leave and asked not to see him again.

Rude and condescending.
My son's normal ARPN was unavailable so I got stuck with Dr.Nguyen, he was very dismissive and standoffish. I came in because my son's poop was mucousy and had a bit of blood. I had already cut dairy out of my diet for months. He asked me a question and before I had a chance to answer he cut me off and said 'I only asked because if it's not helping, don't do it.' Like okay, why ask if you don't even want an answer. Not only that, he told me to try cutting soy and I agreed that I would and lamented that soy was in everything and he was like 'not really.' Well, it is especially if you've already cut dairy, since most dairy alternatives are soy based. After I told him that, he at least agreed I was right. I also brought up concerns about my son's sleep because his other Dr was concerned about his sleep when I saw her last and he told me that my 5 month old only needs 10 hours of sleep per day (naps and night time). That was when I decided I'd never see him again if I could help it.

My son is a patient of his and he was diagnosed with ADHD. His solution to any behavior problems is to continue to increase his dose of Adderall. We needed a refill for my son and he called in a dose that was 15 mg higher than the previous dose even though at the last appointment we said we weren't comfortable with increasing it above 30mg for now and wanted to stay at that. The pharmacist was also very concerned that a prescription for 45mg was called in.

We just met with doctor Nguyen since we are changing our pediatrician. He's very experience and thoroughly explained to us the reason and what need to be done for our son skin care. He has Ezecma for months and the last doctor give him steroids which we didn't like and the meds didn't work either. With Dr. Nguyen, I can see the improvement already for in just 2 days.
