Rude, insensitive, lacks common sense, defensive
Dr. Sakata visited my aunt at Inland. When I asked a question at my aunt's bedside there, he did not want to share with me her medical information. I told him that I am her POA, only relative and caregiver. He told me a story about why he couldn't share or answer my questions that had to do with a patient who didn't want him to share info with her parents. This had nothing to do with my 90 year old legally blind, hard of hearing and bedridden aunt, who didn't quite understand why she was in the hospital. I am her spokesperson. She has Congestive Heart Failure, and A fib among other issues. Therefore, I said to my aunt: can this doctor share your information with me here? She of course said yes. He could have said to her directly: Am I free to speak to your niece here? He didn't even know she has difficulty hearing.
