Big disappointment
I emailed my PCP (Dr. Shih is the best) at OHSU women health about extreme fatigue and joints pain. Worsening joint pain in my hands, ongoing, no relief with ibuprofen, extreme fatigue started abruptly. I have been running 4 miles twice weekly and feeling my best sine my breast cancer surgery 8 months ago. I scheduled virtual visit with my pap and emailed her at the same time for advice. My pcp advised me to come in for in-person visit. I was scheduled quickly. Her colleague Dr. CHoxi saw me for this urgent visit. She examined my joint by looking at them (did not perform full musculoskeletal exam on me). She just said there is no swelling in the joints. Then said the tamoxifen joint pain is in the head. She did not exam my hands for range of motion or tenderness. She made me feel "why I am here, she is careless". Please do not tell your patients: your pain is in your head.

She didn't know anything about my illnesses. That's not uncommon; my issue with her is that she didn't do her job and was dismissive and blame-shifting both times I saw her. Because she, by her own admission, knows nothing about my illnesses and nothing about my medications, she suggests maybe I don't really have those illnesses or need those medications. Then she suggests therapy, and tells me to send her documentation of my illnesses. Again, that is the purview of the doctor and their office. All I should have to do is sign release forms. Her attempt at gaslighting me was laughable. My mental health improves every time I stop seeing doctors like this - doctors who don't bother doing any research because it's easier to pretend if they don't know about it, it doesn't exist. Do your job.

Dr. Choxi was very compassionate during my new patient visit. While recommending certain procedures she also provided options. I would definitely see her again.
