Run
I had hand surgery on my thumb by Gates because I had arthritis. After my surgery, my other fingers were numb. Gates started yelling at me and told me that I had problems in my other fingers in addition to my thumb - this wasn't true. He's probably one of the most arrogant people I've ever met -- there isn't any bedside manner or caring by this doctor. Three of my fingers are no longer numb, however my middle finger is still without any feeling. The surgery on my thumb wasn't a success as now I'm experiencing tendonitis in my thumb and wrist. Run and find a good surgeon with some bedside manner as well as good surgical skills.

Knows nothing about signs of stroke
Pompous, incompetent and arrogant. Dismissive when he cannot use you to line his pockets. His practice is a joke and standard of care rendered is simply laughable. impressed with himself…no bedside manner, class, or empathy.

My broken arm.
I was completely satisfied with the care I received from Dr Herbert. Some of the staff were not the friendliest. My last visit the doctor spent time with me reviewing my follow up care and answered all my questions.

A professional doctor who knew exactly what to do.
After checking into Dr. Gates office I was taken to a room where a medical assistant went over my information and the reason for my visit. My ring finger or trigger finger was photo graphed and Dr. gates explained the results of the photo of my finger and explained the procedure of injecting a steroid into the area of the trigger finger to smooth the tendon.

This is a practice where you actually get to see the doctor and not a PA. When Dr. Gates, is with you, he gives you his full attention and listens to you and engages in a conversation about your condition.

He is the best!
Dr. Gates has been my hand specialist for a number of years. I have had two flawless surgeries and I have healed beautifully! Now I have another issue he is taking care of. He is knowledgeable, sees me personally which is rare, gentle and kind. Always reassuring and thorough. I have complete confidence in him as a surgeon and as my medical advocate! His staff is excellent and so calming and kind.

Worst doctor office visit ever!!
I arrived 10 minutes early for a 10:00 AM appointment and checked in. At 10:33 AM I asked the receptionist how behind is the doctor running? Her response...he is on time! My response is it is now 10:35 AM and I have a 10:00 AM appointment. Her response...your next. A woman walks in and checks in and sits. Five minutes later Elana, nurse aide, call the woman in. The patient turns to me and says, "don't worry I'm not seeing the doctor". I don't say anything. I continue to wait. Elana comes out and opens the exit door and tells me to leave. I will not be seen because I made all the patients uncomfortable. There was only 1 patient and I never spoke to her. I ask the receptionist what's going on. Then Elana continues to harass me. I asked to see the doctor to find out what the problem is. They say no! I leave without receiving the medical attention I waited 10 days for. The office and staff are rude and unprofessional. I will assume the doctor is as unprofessional as his staff.
