We highly recommend Dr. Mok and his staff
Dr. Mok has been a wonderful doctor for my husband. He has been there every step of the way explaining the treatments and answering any questions we had. He is kind, personable and he truly cares about each individual patient and their needs. His staff is always just a 'MyChart' away. I have even had his wonderful nurse, Stephanie, call us at home in Florida 'just to see how my husband was doing.' Preparation for radiation for prostate cancer is definitely a process and some of the side effects of radiation (i.e. diarrhea) are immediate but normal for these procedures. The staff handles these situations in a very professional and dignity preserving manner. I only mention this because of a previous negative review. We have been extremely pleased with the care and treatment my husband has received from Dr. Mok and his staff.

Prostate cancer
Doctor mok spent 30 minutes with me and my wife on our first visit explaining the various treatments. He has since spent time with us every week during the radiation treatments. And now after radiation completion will see me every 3 months. I was first diagnosed by a Baylor doctor who refused to discuss the biopsy results and would only consider surgery. The Baylor doctor spent less than 10 minutes with me and my wife before exiting because “ he had other patients waiting “. MDAnderson is the best place for treatment.

I would not recommend Dr. Mok for your radiation needs. He doesn't take the time to know his patients and their care. My husband complained to him about his diarrhea during radiation for 5 weeks and Dr. Mok didn't think it was a big deal. Now my husband is in the hospital with life threatening infection in his colon. If you have a choice then do your research on Doctors.
