Dr. Hoenecke did a great job of reconstructing my shoulder.

I had reverse total shoulder replacement. For years my shoulder was getting worse from previous injuries and severe osteoarthritis. Dr Hoenecke is a master of his craft. I am very pleased with my new shoulder. I feel like I’m 30 years younger. 90 days post surgery I am able to do all my daily activities without any pain. And my strength and mobility improve more each passing week. I highly recommend Dr. Hoenecke and his entire staff. All are first rate.

Excellent experience with Dr. Hoenecke and his team. He repaired my torn rotator cuff and all interactions from start to finish were clear and professional. I really enjoyed interacting with Dr Hoenecke, but be aware that he is a man of few words, and he might comes across as a bit withdrawn. The outcome of the surgery has been excellent with full recovery of my shoulder range of motion and strength, and I have been able to resume all my activities. I highly recommend Dr. Hoenecke.

Dr. Hoenecke is a highly regarded orthopedic surgeon. From initial consultation to post-op care, I felt informed, supported, and in the hands of a caring expert. The results of my shoulder replacement surgery have been life-changing. I'm rapidly regaining mobility and experiencing less pain than I have in years. Based on my recovery experiences and personal interactions over the past 3 months I can recommend him without hesitation.

Reviewed before-and-after imagery at every step along the way. He also explained the length and nature of the healing process. Since I had a repair of an extensive tear, I had to remain in my sling longer than usual.

Started in the exam room with very pleasant woman who discussed my symptoms and prior treatments. She said Dr. Hoenecke would be in along with someone else to examine me. I stated that I would prefer to see Dr. Hoenecke alone and she said she didnt know if it was possible because they pay them as well. I explained I thought it was the paitent's choice if they wanted to see the doctor only (as I have done with many other doctors with no issues). She said she would mention it. 15 minutes later Dr. Hoenecke came to the door of the exam room. He stood at the door (not entering the room) and said. 'WE ARE A TEAM! IF YOU DON'T SEE HER... YOU DON'T SEE ME'. I was taken aback by his abrasivie, combatitive, uncaring statement. He never entered the room, never introduced himself, never tried to explain the situation. I immediately exited the room telling him he should make new patients aware of his strict policy. He told me if I didnt like it to call Administration, which I did.

Very satisfied with Dr. Hoenecke work, I received very complete pre-op and post-op information, that give me all the confidence to go thru this procedure. The results are as expected, I will certainly recommend Dr. Hoenecke to others.

Having a resident or PA come in for the initial eval only for Hoenecke to ask the same questions is rather trying. A better understanding of a patients career could definitely make this a smoother process, especially for those of us who also have our own patients to care for.

Back to pain-free normal activities three months after total shoulder replacement. Great outcome!

Deciding to go through with shoulder surgery to repair a 3cm tear in my supraspinatus was the first part of a difficult decision. Choosing Dr. Hoenecke to perform the surgery was the most important and best part of it all! Committing to, going through and completing the protocol and physical therapy he laid out for me in order to heal completely was at times not the easiest, however, necessary. The results of it all are that I have next to no pain and complete mobility of my shoulder. I expect to be fully healed by September and back to weight lifting and full exercise by November. I cannot thank Dr. Hoenicke, Force Physical Therapy and their staff enough!

Dr. Hoenecke was thoughtful about my care, listened to my concerns , & took them seriously. I appreciated that. I met with him on several occasions prior to surgery to clarify what I could expect. I feel very fortunate that I could have Dr. Hoenecke as my surgeon The biggest plus for me was no pain after surgery which was amazing!. Dr Hoenecke is the most experienced Orthopedic Surgeon for Shoulder replacement in San Diego. No problems at all with the surgery.

I had my surgery 12 weeks ago and my replaced shoulder works as well as my other one. The staff made sure that my initial recovery was as pain free as possible! Dr. Hoenecke is an amazingly capable surgeon with a lot of experience and a sense of humor. I felt it was important to him that I work as hard as I could to get back to normal and I take pride that at age 79 I did!

Dr. Hoenecke is an expert in his field. Since my procedure I have been pain free and will continue PT until I regain full strength. Dr. H and his staff are attentive and available - which is so important. I am thankful!!
