Dr. Heather King, MD

I received excellent care. This was my very first surgery and Dr King did an amazing job.

She was able to push my surgery up to be able to get it done before the end of the year, was even early finishing my surgery, and symmetry came out great.

She was not only kind but very knowledgeable and thorough. She was straight to the point but took the time to explain things when I had questions. She gave me options and explained things when I didn’t understand a process. I’m very sad she is leaving.

I remember being scared prepping for my first visit to Dr. King. Reading all of the possible outcomes, things to look out for, etc. Dr. King was just what I needed, when I needed her. She explains everything so thoroughly (picture diagram and all). She was patient, made sure I understood where we were and what our next steps would be. She doesn't spend time on the what ifs but instead deals with the what we know right now and honestly, that's exactly what I needed. Yes, she's straightforward and cuts to the point but I appreciated that. Very informative. Answered all of our questions. Very responsive and timely with her communication. Her staff is great. As a surgeon she is the best at what she does. She will dig deeper and work harder to make sure no stone left unturned. She doesn't like surprises and pushes herself and her team to do their best for you.

Dr. King took the time to explain my situation in detail and offered me all different options. She was patient, caring and made me feel that she cared.

I'm sure Dr. King is competent technically, but every interaction I've had with her has been miserable. In explaining my symptoms and concerns, she just stares at me like I'm making it up, and then offers very little explanation and information to show she's invested in finding out what's really going on with my breast. She's terse, dismissive, and the human equivalent of a rolled eye, with zero patience or empathy -- I am there to see her because I have a tangible concern and am scared, and all she's done is talk down to me and make me feel like I'm wasting her time. When she finally did a biospy, she gave me very little explanation about the procedure, recovery, etc, and I was caught off guard afterward by how much more involved it was than she made it sound. She also didn't go through results in detail, nor were they in the portal until I called and asked months later. It's on me I haven't found a new doc in the last year (life happens), but I truly dread going in to see this woman.

I have been seeing her for the last 8 months--she willingly and patiently answers all of your concerns and questions. At 76 I, like at lot of people, never expected to develop breast cancer...but I did---currently I am on chemo drugs with all of my doctors monitoring all my tests and scans.
