Dr. Heather Hume, MD

Dr. Hume made my pregnancy experience and journey a positive one because of her support, stories and knowledge. She always remembered us at appointments and answered any questions we had. I would definitely recommmend her to others, especially if you have tons of questions or worry about it all!

I had a very disappointing experience. After a lengthy 40-minute scan, she stepped in and spent only two minutes with me. I felt completely dismissed and unimportant. Not once did she ask if I had any questions or concerns. Instead, her demeanor was cold and unprofessional, making me feel degraded and less than human. It was as if she was reading from a textbook rather than engaging with me as a patient. Sad considering she specializes in high risk pregnancy. I would not recommend her to anyone!!

If you’re looking for compassion and follow through like most pregnant women are, is not the doctor for you.AI would’ve had a warmer delivery.

One of best doctors I've ever met. Made me feel so safe and cared for through a high risk pregnancy. She goes the extra mile, very approachable, and has a really practical yet safe approach. I would 100% recommend her to friends and family.

I am so happy to have found dr Hume! Once I became pregnant for the first (and was terrified) I made an appointment at Mt Sinai. I was informed that I am a high risk patient and would be transferred her department. I was assigned Dr. Hume and immediately felt more at ease. She explained how everything would go and always answered my 100s of questions. I feel like she is never pushy with extra tests and gives great recommendations. Whenever I had a scare she was there to check things out or answer emails and phone calls ASAP. As soon as I became pregnant the second time i emailed her right away. She did my first sonogram to check the babies viability and was teary eyed (tears of joy) and remembered my first sons name! My second pregnancy was also high risk, and I had a choice to do a treatment during it to avoid preterm labor, when I was worried about possible side effects she broke it down for me and told me the pros and cons and gave me time to think about it. She is very warm!!

So cold and uncaring - I don't understand why someone who seems so dismissive of pregnant women would choose this profession. Throughout my pregnancy she was alternatively bullying and condescending. She also gave me a medication without checking my medical history which caused severe postnatal complications.
