Dr. Heather Downes, MD

I really appreciate that Dr. Downes cares about educating patients about the health of their skin and provides useful information on mitigating the effects of sun damage and protecting yourself generally from skin cancer. Her own skin is a walking advertisement. I asked her to recommend products for me, and I trust her judgment implicitly. She offered practical advice to minimize the effects of aging without trying to sell me anything! She also helps my teenage son with his skin and he really likes her as well. Front desk very nice as well. Easy to schedule.

My wife had her warts removed via cryogenic freezing by Heather or one of her associates at Lake Forest Dermatology and the word did not just remain but was infected and swelled to 5x the original size. My wife later called the doctor and she was unapologetic and did not take accountability. Drdowned said we would be charged $140 for another visit if my wife wished to try another procedure. NO thank you, my wife is not a guinea pig.

Dr. Downes is wonderful. I saw her for evaluation of fine lines to my forehead. I was a little nervous about having injections done for the first time but it was very quick and easy. I gave myself a few hours before going to work just in case I'd experience redness (I have very sensitive skin), but I really could have gone straight to work. There was no redness or bruising. Highly recommend for self pay cosmetic procedures.

Dr Downes is a top notch physician. She listens, explains and thoughtfully delivers some of the best medical care I have ever had. I have seen her for more serious medical care as well as cosmetic care and I find she approaches each with the same professional attitude.

Dr Downes has an informed point of view that is fact based. She is no nonsense but still makes you feel at ease. Have been willing to treat issues that I have avoided in the past given her confidence in the likely outcomes.
