Former thoracic anyuersym patient.
In 2017 I had an operation to repair a Standard Type A aortic dissection with an aneurysm dilation on the ascending aorta of 7.2 cm. My condition was asymptomatic and initially identified during an incidental wellness check when my PCP heard a slight heart murmur. After a series of tests my cardiologist confirmed the diagnosis and immediately ordered surgery. I was 62 and in excellent health. During the last stage of the surgery as I was being ‘rewarmed’ my right coronary artery unexpectedly ruptured, Dr Bittner had to quickly respond and do an emergency bypass on my RCA. The entire operation took about 12 hours. Simply put, Dr Bittner and his surgical team were totaly prepared for all contingencies and saved my life. There are no words adequate enough to express my appreciation to this amazing surgeon and the health care professionals under his direction who treated me throughout this experience.

I could go on and on but let's cut to the quick! I was under the knife with this BLESSED hero March 20,2000 in St. Paul Minnesota, wherein he had me wide open and did 7 bypasses and sent me home to get to exercising. Been active since and THANK him many time over for the long life. Coming up 88 and still going. God has given him mighty skills and continues giving him greater work. Thank you!

Having suffered a mild MI due to atherosclerosis a the young age of 45, I needed a quadruple bypass. I have abnormally narrow coronary arteries, so stenting was not an option. Dr. Bittner worked with his excellent team at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, and with me, to plan the best approach to my surgery. He made me feel part of the process, and explained every step to me very clearly. My surgery was a great success, and I am already feeling much better than before the surgery (I am 8 weeks out). Dr. Bittner is extremely caring and empathetic, and he and his excellent team, including the Cardiac ICU nurses, made the whole scary experience a lot less stressful. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Bittner for any cardiac procedure you may need.

Dr Bittner and his team have incredible attention to detail, great bedside manner and Dr Bittner is highly skilled in CT Surgery. I am 39 and needed a mitral valve and pacemaker and was under Dr Bittners care for 2 weeks in the hospital. Everything was explained, every question answered and I knew he was looking out for my best interests at all times. This has been a rough road but with this team it has been much better than it could've been.

Dr. Bittner recently performed triple cardiac bypass surgery on a family member who had very challenging, small vascular to work with. Dr. Bittner was exceedingly patient, compassionate, and kind throughout the whole experience. He is extremely skilled, and our family will forever be grateful for him for his surgical expertise. He coordinated post-operative care to provide the best possible care for my family member who has made a truly remarkable recovery.
