Dr is GREAT ~ Metro is awful!!!!
Dr Hoyen has handled several of my shoulder and wrist surgeries over the years and I have been happy. Today, I had an appointment with Dr. Hoyen for an issue I am having with my shoulder again and Metro significantly overcharged me. My copay is $60 (also printed right on my insurance card) and they charged me $176. The BEST they could do was give me a telephone number to call. But, that number was to Medical Records. I called Billing and they said that since this happened today it would be a different department and they transferred me to Pre-Billing. That department said that its not their department and so on, and so on until i was told to call Patient Relations who has not gotten back to me yet. How many years have you been in you been in business Metro? Shame on you!! Otherwise great doctors will lose out on business because of you.

Fantastic doctor and surgeon
Began my history with Dr. Hoyan in a trauma room after an accident in 2003. I thank God for sending me to him. He fixed a broken and mangled arm. Currently he is working on a mess caused by another doctor and I am grateful and feeling better already. He is kind, brilliant, and competent.

Disinterested and Lack of follow through
Dr. Hoyen gave me shots for Dupytren's Contracture 3 years ago. Two of the three visits he was on his cell phone. He gave me no follow-up i.e. exercises. I did not feel as though he cared at all. Now I have to have surgery on both hands. I would never recommend him.

He took my case to re-do a surgery that the first Doctor didn’t do correctly and refused to look any further. Dr. Hoyen showed more interest and caring to fix the problem and he did.

Dr Hoyen and his team has been great with dealing with my husband's significant trauma that he received from a MC accident. He continues to follow my husband and continues to try to give him the best end result he can even though it is a life changing injury.

He answered my questions, explaining my healing based on viewing X-ray with me. He correctly assessed my fracture as one that should heal with the proper cast brace and so far his approach is working, avoiding surgery. He’s pleasant too!

I saw Dr. Hoyen in the office to discuss joint replacement surgery. He stated he would order the implants and I could expect surgery in 2 to 4 weeks. I never heard from him again. No response to any communication, wasted 8 weeks of my time.

I have a severe injury to my wrist from playing sports all my life. After reviewing the MRI (ordered by another physician) Dr Hoyen gave me cortisone shots on my wrist. He asked me to report back. Two months after the shots there was NO improvement. Over the next 6 weeks I have called his office twice, left detailed messages with the secretary. (who told me she is entering all the info into the computer so he will read it). I have yet to hear back from him. Really disappointed. No follow up.
