Incredible Experience
I was extremely nervous for my procedure (four wisdom teeth extraction), but Dr. Chen was incredible. He told me that my case was slightly higher risk because the teeth were close to the nerves and sinuses, and that some dental surgeons would not have been able to do the procedure. Less than 2 days later, I was able to return to work and am only needing an occasional 200mg ibuprofen. I could not be happier with the experience and am so happy I found Dr. Chen. I will refer him to any other people I know in need of an oral surgeon.

Outstanding Experience
Dr. Chen's office was welcoming, professional and uber-efficient. I had a tooth extraction and i was in and out in less than an hour. Zero pain, the staff was all engaging, Dr. Chen made sure I was comfortable and called me that night to ensure I was doing okay. I highly recommend Dr. Chen for your oral surgical needs.

Amazing Doctor
The office is super clean and nicely designed. Walking in the front desk was very kind and was able to sort my appointment out very easily. Dr. Chen and his staff were very professional and I knew I was in good hands. He was very thorough with me and even called to make sure I was doing well after my wisdom teeth procedure. Overall, probably the best doctor for the job.

Great overall experience
I had four wisdom teeth extracted by Dr Chen. The doctor was thorough with my questions and concerns. The procedure was very quick and painless as I opted for sedation. I was back to work after only two days. Dr Chen called me the evening of the surgery to make sure I was okay. The staff was helpful with my insurance coverage. Overall it was a good experience.

Mixed Review- nice Dr, costs a ton
While Dr. Chen has great manners & I was in & out of the office in 45 minutes (office visit + biopsy), the amount they charge is insane. When I got there (not when I booked or prior to the visit), they told me I needed to pay $800 up front, it would be submitted to insurance, and I should receive some insurance money back. I only received $89 back bc Dr Chen’s office refuses to negotiate with insurance which the office manager informed me of LATER when I called to ask why I wasn’t getting refunded ~$300 (the amount my insurance tried to negotiate). This is info that should be communicated to the patient as they’re booking, not when they come for the office visit/procedure. Should also note that the office manager I spoke with had a nasty tone and seemed irritated that I was asking about all this as if she didn’t understand why a few hundred dollars is a big deal. Let me be clear- while Dr Chen is a perfectly nice doctor, the 10 minutes I spent with him is not with $710.

Questionable Billing Practices/Stay Away
My daughter went for a consult with Dr. Black (who never appeared - perhaps he is retired?) for wisdom teeth removal. The office staff had previously confirmed that our insurance would be accepted and there would be NO out of pocket expense for the consultation. Dr. Chen appeared and offered to do the procedure at that meeting (first sign to run ...what kind of doctor does that? it was for a consultation only). Subsequently, we received a $500 bill for a cone beam scan that is not covered by insurance. The office KNEW it would not be covered by insurance...so why did they choose that scan when a panoramic xray would have been suitable (and was used by the oral surgeon where she eventually had the procedure.) The office has been difficult to reach and unwilling to resolve the issue. They continue to send "sketchy" bills (no letterhead, no person signing the letter) threatening submissions to collection agencies. Do yourself a favor and find another oral surgeon.

Dental Implants
I had three Dental Implants done by Dr. Chen. I had eight dental implants done many years ago 3 failed. I consulted a few Oral & Maxillofacial surgeons who said there was no way to replace the lost implants. I met Dr. Chen's assistant who scheduled me for a consultation and within minutes Dr. Chen was able to replace the 3 implants with very little pain or discomfort. I was very surprised at the great job he did compared to my last implants done when I had to spend the day in hospital, and had to be highly sedated for the procedure. Since that was done many years ago I was so relieved to not only have the implants done, but at a very reasonable price too. I would recommend anyone who is thinking about getting dental implants to highly experienced, Dr. H. Chen. The implants and exposures are a breeze with very little pain and discomfort. He also treats his patients like family. I would go back to Dr. Chen anytime I need any additional implants and would recommend others as well.

I had four wisdom teeth taken out under local anesthesia because I don’t like to lose control and wanted to know what is going on during the surgery. Dr Chen was thorough, and although he recommended sedation he respected my opinion. Surgery took less than 15 minutes and I felt nothing during the procedure. The recovery was easier than expected. The entire team of doctor and staff were nice and the office was clean and modern. Highly recommended.

I was referred to Dr Chen by my work colleague. She said she had a surgery done and the surgery was quick and painless. I had my doubts when i went in, but now I can attest that dr chen was truly a star. I had a tooth taken out under local anesthesia and I felt nothing during the procedure. It was quick and the staff and doctor were super nice.

My daughter had four third molars extracted under sedation by Dr Harrison Chen. She was scared to go in because of stories she had heard from her friends. As it turned out the procedure was quite smooth. Dr Chen had a very calming demeanor and was very patient and thorough. Surgery was done within half hour. She didn’t remember a thing and the recovery shockingly smooth. So glad we got this done and choose this office and doctor.

Great experience after extractions of 4 wisdom teeth. Dr. Chen was thorough, patient, and the surgery was painless as I opted for sedation. Recovery was not as bad as anticipated. Office was clean and the staff was very polite. Follow up appointment was easy to schedule. This was the first time I was given the doctor's personal mobile number as he was always accessible. Very top notch service.

Dr Chen took out four of my wisdom teeth. I opted for sedation. The sedation only lasted for 45 mins and I didn’t feel or remember a thing. The recovery was also not so bad. It was better than some of the stories I had heard from my college roommates who had their wisdom teeth taken out. The staff was very nice and helpful with questions.

Had a biopsy done in this office. I was seen my Dr Chen, the head surgeon. Procedure was quick and painless, and he personally called me one week later to go over the biopsy report. Dr Chen also had called the same evening of the procedure to make sure I was feeling well. The experience from beginning to end was excellent considering the circumstances.

I had four wisdom teeth extracted by Dr Chen after being referred to him by two co workers. The office was clean and modern. I had the surgery done the same day as the consultation. And the doctor called me in the evening just to follow up and leave me his cell number. When I had a post surgical question over the weekend he responded to me right away. Superb service!

Dr Harrison took full advantage of my mom, 91 years old. She came to him late on the day with an abscess in a molar. Her face was swollen, she was scared and he told her the infection could go to her brain. An endodontist flatly refuted that. $4600 later, she left his office. This was a case of egregious overcharging. This dentist should lose his license.

I was seen as an emergency patient when I was visiting New York. Not only did the office take me right in, I had the best dental experience. Being in a foreign place and unfamiliar town it was scary to not know what to expect. The staff was so nice and friendly. The office was clean and modern and the technology was mind blowing. I saw Dr Harrison Chen and he was the most patient and informative and thorough doctor I’ve ever met. He took the tooth out in less than 5 minutes. The surgeon who took my other wisdom tooth out took almost an hour for the procedure on the other side a few years ago. The office helped me with insurance reimbursement and I got reimbursed very quickly and got the check almost as soon as I returned home. Really a great and surprising experience in a foreign city.
