Dr. Hans Miller, MD

I am confused by the negative reviews for Dr. Hans Miller, so I wanted to share my experience so that potential patients have another perspective to consider. I have never found the staff, administrative or nursing, to be anything but professional and caring. As for Dr. Miller, he and I weren't on the same page or even in the same book to begin with! I know that some patients feel that the only approach he recommends is to lose weight and try Tai Chi and the truth is that exercise is essential when treating chronic pain and maintaining a healthy weight is recommended for all patients! With that said; once I stopped being defensive, argumentative even, I realized that Dr. Miller actually does show up for me and that he truly does care and is quick and willing to explore a variety of treatment methods, if I express my symptoms clearly, and in detail. He simply expects me to show up, for myself, as much as he is willing to do and that seems more than reasonable to me.

I went to Dr. Miller for a few years and found him to listen.and have compassion. Hes very intelligent and interesting and I never felt rushed. Now his office staff sucks. They are smug,unprofessional,petty and down right ghetto. I left Dr. Miller because of his office staff.

As an Independent Neurological Nurse Practitioner in another state for 40 years, I developed severe chronic pain from a crushed spine and degenerative joint disease. For some reason he doesn’t base his decisions on scientific fact. He declares that he has all the answers and just doesn’t listen. He sends in prescriptions before you even have your appointment. At times just decreases meds one’s been on for decades without ANY explanation. Both previous doctors at Tanner Pain Management have left for other practices and didn’t leave forwarding addresses. He’s on a power trip and has zero bedside manner or empathy NEEDED for a pain doctor.

My fault after a New Years eve party failed a urine test . Suspended for 2 months ,advised staff on re-test 2 months later that i was taking a older medication. They advised me to bring proof next Dr visit. I waited another week & finally called them, They told me too BAD no Pain Meds for you after i waited 2.5 months suffering .
