Dr. Gweneth Lazenby, MD

I saw Dr. Lazenby after being raped in 2021. She refused to speak with me about engaging in safe sex after being assaulted, refused to treat injuries, and blamed me for being promiscuous when I had issues regaining a normal sex life after rape. She left me crying in an exam room after telling me that sex would just be painful forever, and that was the price I had to pay. She is only interested in treating the ‘perfect’ victim; attacked by a stranger and completely chaste indefinitely afterwards. She also broke confidentiality by sending the prescriptions for anti HIV meds to a pharmacy and instructing them to bill my parents insurance, rather than receiving them free at MUSC as covered by the county. She would not assist in fixing the issue and continuously denied wrongdoing even after I received documentation from the pharmacy and my insurance. I often received bills from her that should have been covered by the county. Disgraceful woman who should never handle vulnerable patients.

I went to Dr. Lazenby as a first time patient. She was kind, caring and took the time to have a conversation with me prior to the visit. Very professional, knowledgeable and listened well. I would highly recommend her.

By far the best doctor I've ever seen. Dr. Lazenby is easy to talk to, a very good listener & does her very best to accommodate patient requests. She has been my OBGYN for a few yrs and perfomed 2 surgeries on me...1 most recently was cesarean. I would surely recommended her to others. She's AWESOME! THANK YOU Dr. Lazenby!
