Not Plus Size Friendly
I had a very disappointing experience with Dr. Fang for prenatal care. From the moment she walked in, she was cold and dismissive—she didn’t greet me or take any time to get to know me before immediately focusing on my weight. Instead of offering compassionate and supportive care, she made me feel uncomfortable and judged. Expecting mothers deserve inclusive, respectful treatment, regardless of size. Pregnancy is already an emotional journey, and no one should leave their doctor’s office feeling ashamed or unwelcome. I would not recommend her to plus-size patients looking for a provider who truly cares.

i have never wrote a review before but i have to warn anyone who’s reading. i’m not sure how this doctor has any good reviews.. as a provider you should be consistent with every patient but it’s obvious she is not. as a black woman, i sought out dr fang in particular and did tons of research on her practice; reading reviews and watching her video on the avita website. although she had some bad reviews i realize some people cannot be satisfied and i gave her the benefit of the doubt, at my expense. from the very first appointment my concerns were completely dismissed, she was cold and barely spoke to me at all. my experience with her had me concerned if my baby and i would be taken care of adequately. i could never imagine this woman “supporting” me through the most painful and vulnerable experience of my life, the birth of my first child. my last visit with dr fang confirmed i had made the right decision to go with another provider, she was intimidating and arrogant. i just had my first appointment with Jaena Newman, a midwife with OhioHealth and she actually spoke to me and addressed every concern i had previously, with dr fang. she even let me know what treatment options she was considering for my gestational diabetes and elevated blood pressure! she was so excited to be taking care of me and my baby, making me feel safe and secure; completely blew my expectations out of the water. i highly recommend her.

Traumatized by incompetence
Gwendolyn Fang is the worst doctor I have ever dealt with. Not only did she force me into an induction.. she also stripped my membranes TWICE without my permission, she accidentally pulled out my daughter’s umbilical cord resulting in me needing an emergency c-section. While getting my daughter out she cut her head THREE separate times. yes, THREE. She was very rude to my nurses, who were saints. One nurse who hadn’t worked with her before tried to introduce herself and she blatantly ignored her and acted like she wasn’t there. AND she judged me for getting my epidural too early, making comments and scoffing at me. I have never in my life been treated so poorly. I was told I should get a lawyer, but I am just happy my daughter is alive. I never went back for my 6 week checkup. I immediately switched doctors. I’m praying others don’t make my mistake and they go elsewhere for an OBGYN. Gwendolyn if you read this I hope you have the day you deserve :)

This woman is a terrible obgyn. She told me I had polyups in my vagina- I didn't. Told me I had warts- It was a skin tag. Told me I had trichimona while I did my test- labs were clean. She made me feel like crap. She kept muttering about it when she was done like she was disgusted. I hate her. Don't go to her!

I was not impressed with Dr. Fang. She took over after my doctor left the practice. She said my blood pressure was high after it was normal at my regular dr a month earlier. However, the office failed to check it manual, they just used the monitor. I was in healthcare I know that the monitors are not always accurate. I am leaving the practice and going to a new doctor.

My daughter had a stillborn. Dr Fang was rude to her husband and delivered the baby at 6:00 am and didn’t come back to check her till the next morning. She let her go home without labs. Or concerned that she lost her vision. Went back to the dr two days later hemoglobin was low. I would not recommend her to anyone.

She is the worst doctor I met in my life. When asked for the exact problem, she said I don’t know. When asked for the options or recommendations, again the answer is I don’t know you decide it’s your body. Why is she even a doctor if a patient should decide what they need to do. How did she even get her MD degree without knowledge or a manners to deal wit the patients. The only reason to go to her was because no one else was available. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND her to anyone. Compete negativit’s.

I would not recommend her to anyone. Very poor bedside manner. Not good at communicating and providing relevant information. Gave me a pamphlet, performed a painful procedure, and questioned why I was even there. I am not going back if she is the last doctor there is. Her nurses are very nice, but she is not.

I scheduled an appointment after experiencing abnormal cycles (some extremely heavy & painful, others lasting as long as 16 days).Dr. Fang suggested the only solution to my problem was birth control which I had communicated I didn’t want to take.I hadn’t had a pap in about 2 years & she didn’t suggest one.The INCREDIBLE pcp I found did a pap which was abnormal.I’ve had two colposcopys since & go in for surgery tomorrow to remove a uterine septum & endometriosis.Wouldn’t recommend an enemy to her

Multiple issues with Dr Fang and her staff. I was sent a letter telling me to come in for my yearly, when I arrived I was told it was too early for my yearly. Wasted afternoon off of work and no apology for the mistake. She does not listen to patients and only hears what she wants. Last month one of her nurses was severely rude over the phone completely contradicting what emergency room staff had relayed to me. I will never go back to this doctor

My daughter had a child born in this Allen Hospital with Dr Fang. I felt as someone who has four children delivered vaginally and spent time with daughter while she was in labor she did a C-Section that was unnecessary my opinion. Not instructed as to protocol while in labor and I was the one talking to her about everything and it did not come out as it should. She spent four months with an infection and several painful trips to wound clinic. I needed to type more but only allowed this much room

Terrible doctor. Awful bedside manner. Told me I could take a medication while breastfeeding, turns out the medication is contraindicated while breastfeeding. When asked her about this she replied "it'll be fine ." Do NOT let this woman touch you, you will regret it! I would give her zero stars if I could

Dr. Fang was quite possibly the worst doctor I have ever seen! She was very rude, did not listen to what I was saying or asking. She had her own agenda. She also provided inaccurate medical information. I didn't think what she was saying was accurate at the time, but thought ok, she is the doctor. After I left I checked, and sure enough, she was wrong. Would not even look at my past record from the same office four years ago to see what I had been prescribed. I will not return, go elsewhere!!
