Dr. Guy Fogel, MD

My two spine surgeries with Dr. Fogel went very well. He's a seasoned and exceptionally able surgeon with a gift for explaining medical issues to patients in vernacular terms they understand. I was fortunate to be able to get both of my surgeries done with him before he retires at the end of May. Thank you for everything Dr. Fogel. We wish you a happy retirement!

I have only had an office visit so far, which was impressive. He was prepared for me, had viewed my history and imaging ahead of time which maximized our discussion. He was very kind, professional and knowledgeable

Not impressed with Dr. Fogel. He may have been a competent surgeon in his day but I did not have a good experience. After communicating directly with him via email for a coccygectomy consult and sending a HUGE packet of imaging and workups prior to my surgical consult AND then flying from out of town for the consult he walked in the room as if he'd never heard of me and said "What can I do for you?". He had not reviewed ANY of my paperwork prior to my arrival and pretty much had zero knowledge of my very involved case or symptoms prior to me walking in the door. He started initially saying how he didn't have time for the detail involved in my appointment. I told him nicely that he had to make time given how much time and expense I had spent to come to the appointment. He finally conceded under duress. I had follow up testing his office ordered and was not contacted to go over results. I had to initiate all that WEEKS later. Questions were not quickly communicated or answered through the portal or otherwise and Dr. Fogel appeared to not be in good health when I saw him in clinic. He's nice enough but I started having huge doubts about this rare, detailed surgery and follow-up care at this clinic so I decided to go with a younger neurosurgeon that was not past his prime. I feel this doc needs to retire. Spine surgery is serious. You need the best. Sadly, I found this doc sorely lacking. He apologized but too little too late in my opinion.

Dr. Fogel listens to you, explains everything clearly and completely and is empathetic and compassionate. He genuinely wants to help you get better.

I had backpain and leg pain for a while, and Dr. Fogel explained clearly the reasons. He showed me the areas of concern of my spine, and possible treatments. He listened, and was very caring.

Dr.Fogel has been my back doctor for the last 12 years. The man sincerely cares about his patients and stays on top of current/latest medical procedures. I do not know where I would be without him!

I had the "Intercept Procedure" done on my back. The pain is gone, but I have a nearly equal sensation of tightness and tiredness. Dr. Fogrl explained this is due to the curvature of my spine and nerve damage, and he has done all he can. It may not be all I hoped for but tightness and tiredness are fair trade-offs.

Dr. Fogal is very thorough . The best bedside manners . Staff is great !

Dr Fogel was very patient in helping me get comfortable with the medical options for my spine problem. He is an excellent communicator. I'm not sure I would have been so comfortable with any other surgeon. His team is very efficient and a pleasure to work with. It was easy to schedule appointments, easy to confirm the surgery date and co-pays--everything. One of the best overall medical service/practice I have encountered. Great results--I wish I had gone to him years ago.

Dr. Fogel is the best at what he does. He is very upfront about what he can do, he spends whatever time he needs to with his patients. He truly cares about every aspect of his patients. I have been with Dr. Fogel since 2010, and I will not ever let anyone else do any type of work on my back. I do not have nearly the amount of pain that I use to have. Dr. Fogel has followed my case to make sure that I am going to be able to live my best life. I'm grateful to him, and his skills as a surgeon. He is the best at what he does. When it says, spine pain be gone it is true.

Dr. Fogel is very knowledgeable about the back and spine. He explained my condition by showing and reading my MRI and X-Rays in a manner that I could understand. He gave me hope by stating he could fix my problem. He went over my options and the risks involved. After careful consideration and conversation, I am trusting Dr. Fogel to relieve my severe Sciatic Nerve pain by opting for one of the Minimal Invasive Procedures which will remove my herniated disc material that’s pinching my nerve. His experience and gentle nature reassures me that he’s the person for the job. He truly cares for his patients and his goals are to bring back the quality of life and pain free lifestyle that I had prior to my sciatic problem. He even wrote several pharmacy prescriptions for me to get filled and take to help with my pain until my scheduled surgery date. He’s Awesome!!! The office staff and his assistant were friendly, very courteous and professional.

I parted ways with my pain management doctor before the surgery with Dr. Fogel. I told Dr. Fogel this, before the surgery. I suffer from chronic pain and have had two spinal fusions . Well during my visit (after surgery) fogel wrote me an RX for a low dose pain MD. Well he never submitted the prior authorization. I called his office three times. The Dr. did not do the P.A. Finally on my last call, his nurse Jennifer told me to go back to pain management, I told fogel that I ended the relationship with that Dr. So fogel left me in pain, after spinal surgery. He lied to me. I no longer trust this Dr and will tell everyone I know to stay away from him. I ended up paying over three hundred dollars for the medication out of pocket. Had he done the prior authorization I would have paid 40 dollars

DR Fogel is a gifted surgeon, his care for his patients could not be better. I have had DR Fogel perform 3 procedures, they all worked better than expected.

Dr. Fogel took the time to explain my issues and how to fix them. He was not able to do the artificial disc replacement as he wanted because my insurance wouldn't approve it but he was able to do an ACDF. Jennifer was great and keeping me informed of what was going on with the approval status of the procedure.

Excellent explanation of what is going on with my spine and what I can expect from surgery. Dr. Fogel is the rare physician who takes the time to fully explain the what and why of treatment!
