Absolutely a waste of my time
This doctor did not do an actual hands on physical exam nor review my chart for my history. The couple minute long appointment resulted in a rude encounter and him telling me to continue to go back to PT in which had been tried and failed but he wouldn’t know because he never read my chart. What your file. He will put lies in there to cover his inadequacies.

This doctor did not review my history and made a decision that my pain didn’t make sense to him. The thing is he was dressed in a satin matador jacket like he was headed to a party. No wonder he took no time to evaluate me nor listen to my concerns. He dismissed years of my pain in a brief two minute encounter. I wouldn’t recommend to my worst enemy.

Lack of empathy. Referred to him as MRI showed previous herniated disk, was herniated again. Have been having falls from the nerve compression where I have hit my head on numerous occasions. He spent less than 3 minutes in the room with me. Told me there was no way my right leg could hurt as it was the left one that had nerve compression and said try walking in water. Didnt try to to find out why I keep falling, didnt ask me about the pain levels, how I cant dress myself anymore. just 'try walking in water' and called it good.

Not good. Lacking in bedside manners. I felt like a carburetor or car part to fix.

Bedside Manor Is Not His Strong Suit
Saint Luke’s is horribly lacking in the Neurosurgery department. I had an anterior spine surgery performed by a dr that is no longer working there. Afterwards I saw two different physicians assistants. Both told me that my surgery wasn’t healing like it was intended to. I was referred by a PA to Dr Gandhoke. He never examined me, but said his assistant had and had reported to him. I told him that no one examined me. He said he would still check with her. He blamed my pain on “social reasons” This was after telling him that my son has stage 3 brain cancer. I told him this because I can’t be in the pain I am in when I travel to California to take care of my son (whom I would never refer to as (a “Social reason”)I did email this dr and advised him of my distress over his rude and untruthful comments . He said if he made me feel like that he was sorry. If you are looking for a neurosurgeon, I greatly discourage seeing this one.

I had a very critical cervical spine surgery, and in my opinion, Dr. Gandhoke is the best neurosurgeon in Kansas City. He was very caring about EVERYTHING after the procedure. ??
