Dr. Valenzuela is a rare and exceptional physician. He shows compassion, a tremendous knowledge base and is enthusiastic, dedicated and passionate about healing patients and making a difference in this world. He is dedicated to seeking the truth about patients conditions and appears to be willing to do anything to find answers that result in healing those that seek his help. When you talk to Dr Valenzuela you could see in his eyes how much he cares. He does research and is finding answers for his patients conditions to improve their quality of life when these patients may have otherwise been dismissed. As I said, he is rare. It?s rare these days to find a physician that listens, and is genuinely in the medical profession for others verses for themselves. Im a medical professional. Its unfortunate that this site allows patients to review a physician based on problems with the office staff. People seeking a truly trustworthy competent physician will be mislead by those reviews. Agonizing pain
Suffered excruciating pain during my second treatment with Dr. Valenzuela, when he proceeded with PRP joint basal injections without completely numbing the areas first; failing to use any equipment to determine where needle should be inserted to avoid nerves; and requesting an untrained employee to assist him instead of the regular tech, as had been done during my first session. As a result, five days later the injection areas are still extremely painful, as well as, black and blue with bruising, and there is intermittent nerve pain on the left basal joint. To add insult to injury, I waited more than 90 minutes after my appointment time and it appears that he saw all other patients first before me, because when I exited the office, everyone (including staff) was gone. Mind you, the injections are not covered by insurance.

zero stars if I could
The doctor was highly recommended for osteoporosis. However, he has no respect for his patient's time and his office lacks competence and integrity. My first appointment I was kept waiting an hour in a exam room. I figured that had to be anomaly so I went through the blood work he requested and returned for my second appointment. This time the wait was 1.5 hours! The treatment plan was for a monthly injection for a year. I figured that if i was to be seeing a nurse, then wait times would not be so bad and since I had already invested that much time . . . What a mistake! The medication required special approval and I was told that the insurance company would be contacting me within 4 to 6 weeks pending approval. I called the insurance company after 4 weeks only to learn that the medication had never been ordered. Moreover, when I contacted the doctor's office, they claimed that I had called and left a message that the medication order be cancelled.

Wasting time.
I do not recommend this “health professional” He has no empathy or respect for his patient’s time. We waited four long hours and he never came to the room to see the patient. His medical assistants are equal to or worse than the doctor. If you want to have a bad experience you can come to this practice.

Misdiagnosed and Poor Care
I was misdiagnosed as confirmed by two other doctors after leaving the practice. I was told to continue taking a medication that was causing adverse effects and ultimately landed me in the ER with two hospitalizations two weeks apart. Avoid this practice at all costs!

Dr. Valenzuela is committed to the well being of his patients. He is thorough and empathic at the same time. He listens and actually looks at you while he speaks and explains every step of the way clearly. We is humane. He is pleasant and nice, and uptodate with the latest technology in his center. He has helped me with my back condition. Thanks to his commitment, and his diligence I am not disabled. He is the best rheumatologist and the best clinician I have ever met. I am forever thankful.

Do not use this doctor. Waiting room very small and full of patients very unsafe! It’s like they don’t know there is a pandemic. THREE hours for my wife to wait to see the doctor.

The MD is nice but the staff, at the window, and the office manager treat Black patients very different than others. These two speak down to Black patients. I brought it to the attention of, Dr. Valenzuela. Unfortunately, I was retaliated against, by these staff members, and chose to leave the office, on 6/10/20. I was made to wait even more longer during my appointments. On 6/3/20, this manager was aware I would be paying partial payment, during my next visit, and would have a balance of only $17. On 6/10/20, my payment of $30 was not accepted, for my 3rd of 3 injections and was humiliated horribly and denied treatment. Being healthcare professional myself, I have never seen staff allowed to treat clients this way. I have never left a negative comment for any treating provider I've ever had but I must warn Black patients who chose to go to this office based on the experience I have had and what I have witnessed other Black clients to have had from the staff at this office.

I was a patient of a dr Ayala, she does not work in this office anymore. I was billed by Quest Labs, for a blood test I did in 2015. Quest send me the bill again, and I thought this problem was fixed, now 3 years later. Quest send me a billed because Dr. Valenzuela billing department did not add a “qualifying diagnosis” to the prescription for blood. Quest send it back to Dr. Valenzuela for billing department to add a the “qualifying diagnosis” and they never answered Quest. Quest continues to billing me for their error, how am I responsible. I called the office again, I was transferred to a voicemail, the owner of the voicemail if Clarina, after explaining my problem, she said that she doesn’t bill for blood, and she doesn’t know what to do because it’s not her department. I feel that the problem is that I was a patient of Dr. Ayala, and they don’t care about her patients anymore. This is unprofessional, rude, and despicable. How am i responsible for their ignoring Quest, how??

From the beginning to get an appointment is not easy. When you finally get the appointment be prepared to spend the day there. His staff is beyond rude and the first thing they take is your copayment so you're stuck. If you decide to leave they say you have to wait for a refund, had taken over a week for me. After you wait for 3 hours or more they take you into the back (out of other patients view) to wait some more. He walks in for 5 minutes or less and then leaves. Then they actually have the nerve to bill for the visit and 45 min extended time. He used to (and might still be) a very knowledgeable Dr but really doesn't seem to care anymore. Most of the 5 minutes he gives you he spends on his cell phone. One visit I had he paused my talking to speak to his travel agent about an upcoming trip he had planned. His assistant is horrible. You have a better chance of getting struck by lightning than talking to him on the phone. Honestly I truly believe that he just doesn't care about us.

It is totally unacceptable and disrespectful!!! I really needed to see this doctor but the waiting time is absolutely outrageous. Such disrespect to people's time. From what I see, it's their normal practice. In my second appointment I just couldn't take it anymore. Had to stand up and leave.

My visit as a new patient with Dr. Valenzuela was a very pleasant experience. Dr. Valenzuela is easy to talk to and he explained in detail, both visually and orally, my condition and how he was able to treat it. His office and clinical staff took good care of me with no waiting time. I will definitely continue to see him for my condition and would highly recommend him to friends and family.

His office is always crowded. Sometimes you will wait hours. But he listens to you, talks to you and works with you, unlike many of them. I drive 30 minutes to get there and think Dr. Valenzuela is worth waiting for. Not many doctors out here I’d say that about.

Dr. Valenzuela is not what he used to be. When I first started going to him about 6 years ago I thought he was very good, however for the past 2 years the level of care has gone down. He spends about 5 minutes with you and doesn't even examine you, just asks how are you doing. His front desk has gotten better however his Medical Assistant Dina is terrible. She never returns your calls and is very inconsistent and forgetful. I don't think patient's should have to call multiple times.

AS doctors go they are thorough and very informative. Staff is friendly. However, 2 plus hours wait is a bit ridiculous. No explanations just keep saying your next... they need to schedule appointments better in order to get around these extreme waits. This is my third visit all the same waiting times.
