I have been trying to get this done at VCU for over two and a half years now... and it was just put off until it is going to take me going through the 6-month program a third time. My surgeon has been well aware that this is a tool I need to get my physical health under control, and the dietitians and psychologists gave their okay to move forward both previous times going through the program, so there has not been any valid reason for it to take this long. My surgeon was also aware that I wanted to get this done before problems I had foreseen would become an issue... and NOW it is being delayed because they have become issues. This should not take over 3 years to get through when you are motivated and compliant!!! Dr. Compos was so incredibly rude, talking over me every time I tried to speak, and when I finally asked him to stop interrupting me he just got up and left the room. I highly do not recommend him!
