I just want to start by saying, this doctor's reputation precedes him. Read the reviews, listen to the reviews. I have been going to PCP for over 15 years between Dr Nelson and Dr Lawlor (who is AMAZING). Dr Nelson has always been short, rough, and not really willing to stray from his very narrow minded opinion on your care. I just started accepted that all Doctors were that way (not true!!) My most recent apt with him really takes the cake, though. I recently had a baby and got diagnosed with PPA. My psychiatrist suggested that when I went to see my PCP I request labs to see if my levels could be off (thyroid, CBC etc). When I suggested this to Doctor Nelson he instantly got defensive and let me know that he would not draw my labs because then he would have to interpret them and treat me. He was so hurtful and rude about it. So I guess he thinks my psych doctor treats thyroid issues? Can't believe I thought my hard earned money covered interpreting labs re. my HEALTH by an internist.

Zero stars
I was assigned to Dr. Nelson for a same day sick appointment because my doctor was not in. He dismissed everything I said. In fact, he said I probably had a broken thermometer at home when I reported a fever of 104. He also made a snarky comment about my shirt which said 'mental health is health.' Who does that? I know my body. I know when something is wrong. It was a waste of time and money to visit this doctor and I'll have to go to an urgent care after this. I hope his student doesn't think this is how medicine really works.

This was not true and when I said as much it was obvious that she did not believe me. So I pulled out my cell phone and showed her the call logs; there was no call from that office. They did get me in to see another doctor, Dr Nelson. I wish they had not. Though I was going in for a prescription refill, I had other issues that I wan
