Good doc who leaves care to NPs
I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy done at the same time. I had heard lots of stories about pain, bleeding, etc. Dr. Shannon did a great job and I experienced none of that. He is undoubtedly skilled. However, the only time I saw him was 5 minutes before I knocked out from anesthesia. I never saw or talked to him aside from those barely 5 minutes. The follow-up was in a letter mailed to me a month later. What?! I'm going to get a colonoscopy and endoscopy done AGAIN elsewhere because I'm not confident he was thorough enough, he was so rushed. The only reason for this is overbooking patients. I wish he would stop this because he has a lot of potential. But I can never recommend him to anyone I know.

Indifferent towards patients
Had to have another Dr contact him in order to get an appointment. A Colonoscopy/Endoscopy was performed. He has not followed up with me. A letter was sent after 10 days of procedure. Had many bad reactions with no help from him. Tried to call and no return call. Turned over to his PA. She has limited knowledge of my case and drugs. This procedure was a nightmare. He has changed dramatically. I'm extremely disappointed.

Dr. Shannon and his entire staff were very courteous and professional. This was my second experience with Dr. Shannon, who also took care of my mother, and I will simply say he is the best at what he does.

I have never left a negative review for a doctor, but due to my disappointment in how I’ve been treated, I feel I must. After a stint in the hospital for severe gastric pain, I contacted Dr. Shannon’s office and immediately got a date for a colonoscopy/endoscopy. Good deal and excited to possibly have a doctor to help me. Bad deal is I was billed when I shouldn’t have been, I had to call the office 3 weeks after the procedure to have my possibly scary polyp results read to me over the phone, I have to wait 3 months for my supposedly “3 week” follow up. Totally unacceptable and to top it off... As a new patient the only time I met the doctor was when he ran in late to do the procedure. So sad

First of all Dr. Shannon is awesome. He took great care of me during a difficult time in our country’s history and I’m very grateful. He is very knowledgeable and explains everything very well. More importantly with his help I’m feeling 100 percent better. He found my problem and took care of kit. I am beyond thankful. He is worth the wait!

Dr. Shannon took care of my husband over the last month and has done a wonderful job. Not only was he there for us while in the hospital he has also followed up with us by video after he was discharged. This was so helpful because we have been afraid to go into the hospital because of Coronavirus. This was quite helpful. He has been God sent! He cares and we are very happy to have found him! It’s a scary and unprecedented time and we can’t thank him enough.

Very disappointed! Absolutely unacceptable the way I was treated by Dr. Shannon and one of his staff members during the time that I had bad abdominal pain during COVID. I understand that you can't see patients in person but not being available for your patients and all calls going to a nurse is ridiculous! Will never step foot in this office or refer anyone, again!

Dr Shannon worked on my wife's bleeding for Diverticulitus/Diverticulosis in her colon. He did not call me after the surgery as was requested and did not leave any instructions/orders with the Nursing station. Due to COVID-19 I was not allowed in the hospital so I did expect a call. When I left messages for him to call me he did not return my calls. He never visited with my wife after her surgery to check on her. She only heard from him once after requesting him to call and he basically told her he did his job and the hospital can handle it from there. Meanwhile we have had to get another GI specialist to try to resolve her bleeding. I would highly recommend not using this doctor.

I went to see him for right abdominal pain that was no longer present. He was personable and ordered a very expensive test $2800 - he said we would talk in his office after the test. The test was for me, inconclusive. But his office left me a voice mail with a surgeons number recommending I have my gallbladder taken out. I was furious with how impersonal it was and left a message for him to call me. When he returned my call he was abrupt and angry that I questioned him I immediately searched for a 2nd opinion and found a great doctor. He was shocked that an ultrasound had not been done -he ordered one and found no gallstones. He recommended no surgery and that was 4-years ago. I have not had any gallbladder attack in over 4-years It felt like someone saw BC/BS and said yippee! Let’s spend some money I felt very unimportant to Dr Shannon and like a dollar sign instead

When my digestive issues began I was seeing a different doctor. I was extremely disappointed with the care and bed side manner of my first doctor. Once, I was able to see Dr. Shannon and his N.P. Hannah I was blown away by the care, concern, and treatment plan put together for me. I have been feeling so much better after following the treatment plan from Hannah. I could not put into words the gratitude I have for Doctors who care and want the best for you and believe you when you say you are not feeling well. Thank you!

Dr. Shannon is highly regarded by my family doctor. His staff is very polite and welcoming. My wait to be seen after arriving was about 15 minutes. All aspects of my upcoming procedure was thoroughly explained. Dr. Shannon was very professional and approachable in a down to earth way. Even though going to the doc is no fun, the approach used made things easier and is appreciated.
