Open Ventral Hernia Repair
I saw 3 doctors for evaluation of a ventral hernia. Dr Nishimura was by far the most qualified surgeon who offered the least invasive procedure to resolve my issue. After discussing the other highly qualified doctors recommendations with him, (of which he respectively welcomed their suggestions and did not criticize their professional evaluations), he explained his reasoning for a less invasive solution. Dr Nishimura was 100% professional, he listened attentively, he answered every question I had and really made me feel comfortable about my decision. I would definitely recommend my closest friends and family. Post operation comment, 1 day after surgery and I feel good. I feel exactly like the doctor said I would...I was happy to hear that Dr Nishimura not only repaired the single hernia that was creating a problem, yet also repaired two other smaller hernias. The booking process, the hospital we used, the followup one day after...was all spot on - very professional process.

Dr. Nishimura did my Gastric Sleeve (Sleeve Gastrectomy) in June 2019. I have nothing to say but wonderful things about him. The procedure went extremely well, & my results have been life changing. I am 159lbs from 275 (my peak). I am off all my prescriptions except an anti-anxiety drug cause I get panic attacks. If someone is struggling with their weight like I was. I would definitely recommend this surgery. If you want an excellent doctor I would recommend this guy !

Horrible bedside manner. No personality whatsoever. I guess that’s why he’s a surgeon. He also didn’t fix a hernia I had during my surgery so I had to have that fixed a few months after. Would not recommend.

Experienced and personable. As a postop gastric bypass patient (October 2004 - 110 lbs. lost), I always ask Dr. Nishimura for recommendations for other physicians.

I felt Dr. Nishimura was very knowledgeable. But the scheduling was horrendous and and awful experience. Waiting time was always over an hour, to an hour and a half. To only see him for maybe 15 minutes and be rushed out of the door. That being said and done very pleased with the way the surgery turned out, but the staff and the scheduling was the biggest downfall.

Dr. Nishimura is an excellent physician, & I would 100% recommend him, without hesitation. His staff (from office manager to front desk staff) however, are very rude, abrupt, and unapproachable. I have personally witnessed one of the front desk staff (older woman) being extremely rude (& visibly angry) to a patient that was late to see Dr. Nishimura;Dr. Nishimura is always running >1 hr late. I work in healthcare - if I behaved in such a manner or my staff did, we would all be out of a job!!!
