Cold and insensitive
Dr. Arends acted as if he had a golf game to get to. Cold and insensitive for office visit. Even worse for my back injection. Would not return only reason I went ahead with injection was I was in a lot of pain.

Helped me with my neck
I felt Dr Arends did a great job for me. While he is direct and to the point (which may turn some people off), he was 100% focused on me and my issue with my neck. He got the job done and I appreciate and respect that. I also saw a very compassionate side of him when I was in serious pain and anxious. He spent considerable time with me prior to and after the injection to make sure I was feeling okay. I give Dr Arends a full 5-stars. If you want him to tell you jokes he is not your doc. But if you want him to help you, he's the guy. Terry

Great Care
I've been seeing Dr. Arends for a few years now and has been a savior. He's helped me manage issues in my cervical spine and made my paint very bearable. 100% would recommend.

Horrendous Experience-Would NOT Recommend
My experience with Dr. Arends was offensive. I saw him at the CU Sports Medicine facility after a referral from my orthopedic surgeon for a cervical neck issue. I came with both MRI scans and X-ray images, as well as after several visits to the referring physician and approximately 3 months of physical therapy. Dr. Arends comes into the room and immediately begins questioning me regarding a medical issue that did not pertain to why I was seeking his assistance. He proceeded to lecture me, giving me his unsolicited opinion, and then half-heartedly listened to my reason for my visit--all without ever having looked at my images/chart notes. After reviewing my chart, he then comes back to tell me that he was very surprised because my images did in fact show issues relating to my complaint but then proceeded to pass me off to another physician group. He had made up his mind about what my problem was before even seeing me and was both dismissive and borderline rude.

I was referred to Dr Arends by my spine surgeon Dr Van Buskirk. Today I had the procedure with injection to my L5 Dr Arends is very professional he explained before hand what to expect and talked to me during the procedure to make sure I was doing well. He has an excellent bed side manor, the procedure was realtively quick and with hardly any discomfort. I had a positive experience

Horrible experience with billing (billed insurance differently from what I was quoted). Minimal time spent on treatment.

I strongly discourage working with Dr. Arends - 5 minutes of consulting, followed by 15 minutes of on your own exercise. The office insisted on being paid upfront, then failed to properly bill insurance. Contacting the office they simply don't bother to correct billing problems. Additionally, insurance billing does not match quoted prices, so I'm suspicious of the ethics associated with the clinics Dr. Arends is associated with.
