Dr Shifflett and his amazing team are my heros! When anyone else would have given up on my difficult case, they continue to make me feel like I matter! Their care for me, their immediate response to my concerns, always going over and above every step of the way can be compared to none. I couldn't imagine where I'd be if it wasn't for Dr. Shifflett and his team. I am truly blessed to have them fighting with me on this journey that I know will get better because of them. I've been battling Ankylosing Spondylitis, an inflammatory disease that, over time, can causes vertebrae to deteriorate, and/or fuse, disc deterioration, etc. I'm very active, mostly with board sports (skateboarding, surfing) which tends to exacerbate my situation unfortunately. In late 2021, I experienced a pretty bad disc herniation that led to sciatica, which left me unable to sit, sleep, drive, etc. It was by far the most intense persistent pain I'd ever had, and I've slammed hard, lots. Dr Shifflett and his staff got me scheduled for a pain specialist, and facilitated everything leading to the actual surgical procedure. I found the whole staff to be knowledgable, empathetic, and very approachable in terms of helping 'humanize' complex discussions, decisions, and procedures. I felt like I had a team working with me personally, looking out for my best interests, and holding my hand as needed along the way. The facility is next level comfortable and the staff is outstanding.

Dr. Shifflett explained my treatment options and worked to quickly accommodate my busy schedule. He and his team are knowledgeable, caring and expert. I was up and walking around less than 1 week post-op. My sciatic pain was immediately relieved following discectomy.

Not the place to get an Artificial Disc Replacement with Mobic-C device. Criteria is based on implant manufacturer criteria and to keep study outcomes high to sell more implants....NOT WHAT IS MEDICALLY APPROPRIATE FOR THE PATIENT. Does the doctor get a kickback...ask!!!! You will be shocked. I cancelled my surgery and wont even take my dog here if I had to. Get a second opinion.
