Dr. Godwin Ofikwu, MD

I was experiencing severe pain about two years ago and ended up in the ER. Dr Ofikwu told me it could have been a gall stone that broke free and could have lodged in a bile duct. He explained in great detail that it could happen again if I didn’t have my Gallbladder removed. But the pain subsided and I just went home. Well it happened again just like Dr Ofikwu said and I ended up in the ER again and this time I had Dr Ofikwu remove the gallbladder two days after I had another procedure to dislodge a stone that broke free and lodged in my Bile Tree creating sever pain just like Dr Ofikwu said it would. Had I listened to him the first time I could have saved myself a lot of pain, anguish and an extra procedure. I would recommend Dr Ofikwu to anybody who would need the services he provides. The man is amazing.

I need emergency surgery for a colon blockage and was assigned to Dr. Ofikwu at Sunrise Hospital. I was scared obviously before being wheeled into surgery, but Dr. Ofikwu explained what was going to happen and put me at ease with his words. I came through surgery just fine and I am so lucky that the timing worked out because he truly saved my life. He is kind, attentive, and an excellent surgeon. My mass turned out to be cancerous, but we believe he got it all during the surgery. I highly recommend this physician!

Most other doctors would have taken the easy route and my husband's quality of life would have been very difficult to say the least. But under Dr. Ofikwu''s skilled guidance before, during and after the surgery -- I have my husband back. We are so grateful that we stumbled into the ER at that devine appointed time to be blessed by this wonderful, caring doctor. I've lived in Las Vegas since 2003 and have experienced the lack of quality medical care here, but Dr. Ofikwu sets the bar high -- he is an awesome doctor. He IS the best in town no doubt. My husband's surgery was done in March of last year and he is doing just great and living his best life. Thank you Dr. Ofikwu!

Dr. O is very professinal (along with dress code), detailed and non-misleading. It helps that he is very personable and has a great sense of humor. He has a very proficient and efficient staff in and out of his office. I would recommend Dr. O to anyone in need of a great "ass" surgeon :)

My appt is supposed to be in a month however due to my thrombosed hemorrhoid they were able to accommodate me due to sever pain. Dr. Ofikwu is very efficient and prompt in addressing my medical condition. He did not waste a single minute in helping me with my condition. Very kind doctor and very understanding. Also I would like to thank all his staff they are very kind and compassionate especially Cherry his nurse. I really appreciate the comfort and compassion.

In 2019, I had a hemorrhoid that burst its way out into a fistula. I went to my doctor and she referred me to a surgeon who fixed it. He told me it "could" come back. 2 months after surgery, it came back. I felt there was no hope and I would just have to live with it... After 2 years, I told my doctor I can't take it anymore and I need a referral to a specialist. In comes Dr. Ofikwu. He figured out the issue with me very quick, set up the surgery (which cost half as much as the other guy!) and fixed it. 2 years later, I'm still in tip-top shape. I can't thank him enough. He literally changed my life and I will always be in his debt! If you are even considering another specialist, you're a fool. He's amazing and his staff is friendly and super accommodating.

Dr. Ofikwu saved my life and restored my health. I can't express enough my gratitude for his expertise as a surgeon. He explained my medical condition in terms that I could understand. He provided me and my husband with medical information that helped me to make a decision concerning my surgery . Great doctor. Spends time explaining things to patients and does not rush to surgery as the only solution

Let me start by saying that I have never met a more compassionate doctor in my entire 37 years of existence! I had my mom rush me to the hospital two weeks ago & Dr. Ofikwu was on vacation, but he came to the emergency room just for me and he took a look at me and scheduled an emergency surgery that night. He took such good care of me, when He didn’t have to & I’m so blessed that he was put in my path that day. I was discharged from the hospital the next day & the dr called me before I left. He checked on me over the next few days a few times throughout the day & then I started to have complications. I went back into the ER and Dr. Ofikwu called the hospital ahead of time to let them know to get me back right away. He ordered a ct scan & figured out the problem. The hospital kept me over night for observation & then Dr. Ofikwu came to see me the next morning before he had another surgery. He ordered the things I needed and fixed me once again!! Now I’m home feeling much better.

This doctor really cares about you! He explained everything in great detail and gave me options. I really trusted him and his knowledge. He was very comforting and compassionate. I was in a lot of pain but he was very gentle and concerned for me. I highly recommend you consult with him before seeing anyone else. Great doctor.

He came into the hospital and took charge of my husband. He performed the surgery and he was flawless. He was caring, concerned, took the time to visit every day during recovery and answered every question. I would put our lives in his hands anytime.

Dr.Ofikwu saved my life. He did not give up on me or his quest in finding a surgeon that could help me. After he sent out 200 emails finally a local dr from another hospital responded. After I was transferred there and had my surgery dr ofikwu came to visit me. I will never forget his kindness and sincerity along with his knowledge and professionalism. What a fantastic soul.

Best Doctor I've encountered in years. Took me a while to realize how professional, caring, and the want to help is unbelievable. Doc is awesome on all levels of being a medical Doctor/Surgeon.

I made a mistake an judged Doc too quickly. I had my surgery on 5/7/19. My pain was so severe and still is, I was under the understanding that Doc would not give any pain medication per his office staff, again I feel this to be miscommunication issue. Dr. Ofikwu still came to my aid as so did his office staff lady brought my prescriptions to my house. Dr. Ofikwu is saving my life and I have a lot going on medically in my case and am proud to have Doc on my team.

When I gave up hope this fantastic man restored it! What a fantastic dr and person this man is! He is very well educated and very caring. I became his patient upon being admitted into hospital. He was there everyday or every night to check on me. When another dr had to abort colonoscopy on me.....dr. Ofikwu took the extra time and patience and successful colonoscopy! Truly a fantastic person and surgeon and an asset to Henderson! May God bless this man the way he has blessed so many!

Dr. Ofikwu is truly a Dr that it absolutely a cut above the rest. I would recommend Dr. Ofikwu to anyone needing these services. This is a man that truly cares about his patients; he makes you feel that you are his number one concern. I had surgery performed by Dr. Ofikwu in March and the Dr. was there everyday I was in the hospital throughout the day to check on my recovery; he never left me wondering. I would follow this Dr. anywhere he chooses to practice should I need these services again.

I met with Dr on friday for consultation. My husband and I were impressed with his education, compassion and caring. The surgery was quickly scheduled for that Monday. On the evening of my surgery he visited me at the hospital to check on me and ensure that I had taken a walk. A nurse confided to me that he was the only surgeon that visited daily and if their family needed such a surgeon he is who they would use. I am comfortable and healing quickly so I recommend his surgical skills as well.

Dr. Ofikwu was my best "find" after living in Henderson for over 10 years. He could see the pain I was in and scheduled surgery quickly. Before the surgery his assistant, Marlene, drove my prescription out to my home because I was in too much pain to drive. After my surgery I felt immediate relief. Dr. Ofikwu followed up by calling my home the day after surgery to see how I was doing. I have never received better care or follow through from any other physician. I highly recommend him!
